Trust me, Kelly, if I start seeing the UCA bushings coming apart I'll be in the market for something other than a direct OE replacement off the dealer's parts shelf. Maybe even something that uses the newer UCA length . . .

Norm

They typically "rip" or separate on the rear portion of the bushing, closest to the differential.

$850 for a UCA?!?! Holy crap... That more than my Griggs Torque arm cost.

Our Spherical UCA for the 11+ is $349.95. The Mount is $149.95

Our new UTCA033 is definitely costly, but, it's got A LOT of engineering and testing behind it. There is no other UCA on the planet that comes with the amount of quality pieces.

Stuck as much by the thing being so damn short. Some custom 3-links I've seen pictures of are multiple times as long, screw the back seat more room for tires.

Norm

Have you upgraded to the 11+ UCA System yet?

Women aren't the only ones who can feel a 1" difference. ;)

Anywhere from a few hundred to a thousand installed. My spherical BMR UCA with bracket, hardware, and axle-side spherical bearing, all professionally installed, ran about $850 all said and done.

My stock UCA was surprisingly not damaged. Then again, I don't really do any stupid shifting, which , from the videos I've seen of UCA's, is what I guess hurts them.

I agree, changing the UCA can make a huge difference, but we're a little stuck (in my opinion) when it comes to bushing material and articulation ability.

what!? I would have done it for 400 :highfive:

Labor was 250ish. Parts were 600ish

Geeze. $750 for my Griggs torque arm. I installed it myself, but it requires welding, which most people aren't up to. I would guess installation would have been another $500-$700 based on how long it took me.

Installed the BMR relocation brackets and BMR lower control arms over the weekend.

Gotta say they are high quality pieces with high quality hardware supplied. The greasable/fluted bushings are a huge plus in my book.

Tolerances for the brackets were nice and tight. Had to do some extra coercing on the passenger side to get the control arm to line up with the bracket (had to move the axle about 3/8" toward the front - not sure why it shifted), but finally got her there. Driver's side was much smoother (for some reason).

Initial impressions: after a quick jaunt, I definitely noticed a positive thing when accelerating hard from a roll. No more bouncy-bouncy of the rear suspension – the car feels like it just GOES instead of the rear end squatting and unsquatting and squatting, etc.

Cornering: haven't really pushed it but did notice a nice, subtle difference on my on/off ramps to work this morning. The car seemed to corner a bit sharper than previously. It felt like it was taking tighter radius per degree of steering input than previously – the exact opposite of what I was experiencing before the swap. I LIKE IT!

So far, after 24 hours, I like the upgrades. ;)

AWESOME! Good to hear.

As for the axle, it's pretty common to experience axle shifting when doing the LCA/Brackets. As long as you got it all back together, you are good to go!
