....yeah.
I havent been able to do much of anything to anything recently as i pulled a muscle in my back which is killing me. Especially since its so cold in the shop now a days.
Today however i got the new steering shaft(column?) in the car. I weighed the whole assembly and it weighs 3.8 lbs. the factory column weighed in at 14 lbs!!! Whats that do for yah!?!? Also its much simpler and it will give me clearance for the wide 4 valve and long tube headers in the engine bay side. Ill finish that side once i get the motor in. For now i just wanted to get it mounted and weld in the brace. This is one of the last things to do to the chassis before i lay some paint down in there.
This is the lowest setting and the first pic was the highest setting...
I drilled 2 holes to give me more range to raise and lower the column. I typically like to drive with the wheel titled up a lot so i wanted some adjustment in there.
I also mounted the AIM displayin the dash panel...
My sweet new Recaro SPG Profis. These fit me much better than the PRO2000s i used in my nissan and porsche...
Now i have to fab up a rear bulkhead/ firewall, mount Willwood Pedal assy., and nut-sert the windows sills. The motor is at the machine shop and i need to order some ARP hardware, Canton oil pan, and gaskets for that. Ive got KW on board helping out with a set of custom coilovers for the project also. Gotta thank those guys for helping me out this season. Hopefully i sell this 3V motor and 5 spd. trans so i can get moving on the rest of this stuff.
