Should I get a tune?

I mean tbh a failing cop or weak spark plug could have numbers lower than expected..

Well anything really
But it's a guessing game and that's what we are playing ..

And since he said he might get a dyno,, that's why we are playing ..

Now that said .. obviously the dyno corrections would vary
I feel there really isn't a point in Tuning an engine unless you know it is running to perfection but at least with Lito he can see a lot more than fault codes through the datalogger and stands a better chance of pinpointing where the anomalies are happening.

Just for comparison sake, I have a 2005 Roush Sport (base GT engine). I have the Ford racing cams, FRPP intake, FRPP throttle body, JBA short tube headers, stock Roush exhaust with cats, Steeda CAI and was told it was dyno tuned. To round out the car it has Ford Racing billet lower rear control arms, 4.10 gears and a carbon fiber driveshaft.
When I bought it the tuner and dyno sheets were gone. I have been running 93 in it just cause I didn't know what tune was in it. Car seemed to run really good. Well got it dyno'd last week at the Ford Nationals in Carlisle by VMP on their dyno-jet. 308 RWHP @ 6400 RPM. My rev limiter is set right there so might have been able to squeeze a little more but after that disappointment I'm looking at buying an SCT tuner and have Manual build me a 93 tune. I talked to the SCT guy there and he said that the previous owner likely put the weakest tune back in it that it would run on then unmarried it to keep the tuner.
Hope these numbers help for comparison.
And in case anyone is wondering...I bought it at a specialty car dealer and he bought it from an auction so I don't have the previous owners contact info.
BTW-I'm looking for an SCT X4 7015 if anyone has one they want to get rid of?

What info I've seen on this forum about different bolt on parts, I'm guessing your RWHP might be close to what you can hope to achieve Rocket man. I wouldn't have a clue if the 4.10 gears and Carbon fibre D/S would improve RWHP. The experts on here can advise on that one

My results with the SCT were not great.
I have a 2010. first with a 5r55, then with a C4.
I have a SCT TS Plus.
I was using the 93 Octane tune.
Gearing, tires and exhaust are the only changes (other than Trans) made.

The SCT Factory 93 Tune parameters which you could change were not responsive when values where changed.
IE shift points, timing, richer vs leaner.. none of these were responsive when values were changed.

Two different companies gave me new files to load. I would drive around the pit area and car would not rev to 4000 rpm when custom tunes were loaded - same results with both trans.

Is this a SCT problem, Ford Problem, or Other? I don't know.

Both of the companies are very good at what they do. One prefers not to work with the SCT because of how arduous programming can be,

I would like to try the Derive Systems Prorace software but have became so disappointed with SCT support and products that I believe it is time to move on to another ECU/system .

I regard an SCT device as purely a gateway to the ECU, I believe its overpriced for just being a gateway as it looks and feels like something made in China for $20. I suppose the canned generic tunes are what they charge the extra dollars for. I only place value in an individual tune with revisions even though its can be a pain to gather data logs.
I have to admit loading a tune to the ECU from the laptop via the SCT was pretty painless and this is my first time personally loading a tune. If your vehicle had issues before you uploaded a generic tune its only going to exaggerate them or affect something else that was running fine before the tune. A generic tune was configured for a vehicle that is 100 percent perfect electrically & mechanically.

The device really does not matter. Its the software that writes the tune that matters. Just poke around on HPtuner site, and you will see many threads on "this table isn't mapped, that switch is not available...etc". Send support ticket and they add it for you.
I have SCT PRP and it has everything I need on the 5.0 TiVCT. Never needed any support from them. The last update now requires internet access as they are storing the definitions on their servers now. I just update the dongle with the new version. Old version on laptop still works without internet. And recovery after a failed or interrupted flash is cake with the x4 once you know how to do it.

I have dyno resultView attachment 117257I have a standard 2007 GT 3V 4.6 with long tubes an X pipe and high flow cats. Nothing else except stainless exhaust and custom cylindrical 14" mufflers.
Something's not right with the dyno run. The shape of the HP & TQ curves looks normal but they're 500rpm higher up the rpm scale than I'd expect (peak HP is at 6500rpm & peak TQ is at 4700rpm), and the rev limiter seems to be set at a highly unlilely 7200rpm (probably 6700rpm in reality).
A peak TQ of 300lbft at the rear wheels is in the ballpark but with stock cams, I've never seen the HP number higher than the TQ number. If peak HP is actually at 6000rpm rather than 6500rpm, the HP number would be corrected to 6000/6500 x 316.3 = 292. That makes a lot more sense.
