Kyle, my eyes must be failing me I do not see a "heads-on" piston stop in the picture.
LOL, it's in the plastic black case toward the top of the pic. My rod vice is also not in the pic since it's clamped in my bench vise.
Well onto the next chapter of this story, after a few days passed and no pistons showed up I called Propower to see WTF and they proceeded to inform me there was an issue with their inventory computer, they did have the pistons in stock however they're currently installed in a short block! ARGH!! After another afternoon making a million phone calls I found a set of the same pistons .030 over, ordered them and they arrived on Thursday. So now my motor will be 1.7 cu larger, watch out! Needless to say that little inventory error was another set back so the machine shop didn't have enough time to get everything done this week, now were trying for tomorrow. I'm told everything is done other than honing the block, polishing the crank, and a few other minor things I asked them to do.
On another note the rear drag race brake kit I ordered from Strange last month showed up the other day, I ordered it about a month ago, it took forever since it's a brand new kit and is in high demand. They also had to make the brackets since they were out of stock. The kit is so new the sales guy I talked to on the phone didn't even know it existed yet, I had to give him the part number to find it (Part #B1722WCH with medium metallic pads) then he was like when the hell did that come out? lol. This kit is designed to be used with Strange axles and c-clip eliminators. I also had to get -3an ss lines and adapters from Wilwood part #220-9248.
Anyway I installed it over the past couple days, here's a few pics. Over all it's a great kit, drops about 30 lbs of weight, some of that rotating weight, including the parking brake handle and cables. I had to grind the aluminum brackets slightly to get the bolt holes to line up, otherwise everything went well.
First you have to pull the axles to swap the caliper mounting brackets, which I was pleased to realize is much easier to do with the c-clip elims than with the OEM c-clips!
old bracket for OEM calipers
Dont hate on my grinding work~
new bracket
new assembly installed
Hopefully I'll get my motor back tomorrow..
