Well my PT 5858 CEA is leaking from seals. I am thinking it might be from overspinning it when I had a big cold side leak. I am planning on buying the kit below. I have read that journal bearing do not have to be re balanced as long as you put it back together the same orientation. I have also read that precision using the same center section as garrett. I am wanting get some input from you guys who have experience doing thing.

Why not have it serviced properly at precision or any other reputable shop where they warranty their work. Vice taking your chances with a "deluxe" turbocharger repair kit off ebay... lol

50 bucks vs 400 and down time. Plus it looks really simple. Reason it says "Super Deluxe" because it has 360 thrust bearing which is what precision buts in there.

Or, turbo touches down and costs way more than 400!
That thing spins well over 70k rpm. A little imbalance goes a long way.

If you mark it it has to go back EXACTLY how it came off. Not worth the risk to me. But being journal or ball bearing has nothing to do with it. You're balancing the compressor and turbine together.

Usually the seals fail because of heat, heat from oil starvation. You need to have it rebuilt by someone who has some experience, if it got too hot they will know if the shaft is still straight and if it's worth rebuilding.
