Just as I hit 10k, my tranny started acting up, hard to get in gear, had to cut car off to put it in gear..clutch released at floor...great...
so I took her to the dealer, a friend of mine is a mechanic there so I requested that he work on it, just got a text..
fluid is fine no metal, but he went ahead and did the fluid tsb for the notchy shifts
pulled tranny clutch is like brand new
slave cyl is perfect
flywheel in exelent condition..well all except for all the bolts falling out of it...lol..
Im relived that it was that insted of somthing worse..

Soooo, I guess I can't brag on not having any problems with the new 5.0 anymore.
but if that's the worst thing to happen im good

Have him do an aftermarket clutch for you.....best thing you can do for your tranny. I had my dealer but in my RXT when they replaced my tranny, it has ran great since

My pressure plate bolts fell out at 11,800 miles. They replaced all the clutch componets with the upgraded unit. I got a new clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, pilot bearing and slave cyl. Car shifts great now.

Yea, mine is 6/10 also. Ford assured me that the pressure plate bolts backing out is only on newer build date mustangs... Laf...............

I have intermittent crunchy shifts, but it is not hard to get into gear.

My car always shifted perfect, dident have the money to do a clutch,I wanted to do that and a aluminum flywheel, but no cash so everything is still stock. Buddy called a me and its good to go. Mine never shifted funny or anythng so im not too worried, if it needs a clutch later ill do it myself. ..go pick her up in the am, one day turn around.
its just funny how it did t all of a sudden, with no warning, you would think bolts backing out would start out with minor problems and get worse..
build is 6/10 also

I guarantee its your pp bolts. They put new ones in, inspected the clutch and it looked brand new even at the power level I'm at for 4k mikes. Same symptoms I had and I have a early build date car. I bought it in May of 2010.

Well I was wrong, was half asleep when he called me, it was the pp bolts, he said bolts and flywheel that's all I heard...lol...car has a firmer feeling pedal now and it releases in the middle of travel, witch it never did since day 1, it was always close to floor.
I got to get used to it all over again...lol...feels totally different
