^^^Lol, but the big block ford is already paid for and probably a 1/5 the cost of that motor

Because of the planned ride height (very low)? Also you going dry sump? What oil pan is that, custom I guess? Looks very shallow, which is good for clearance and you can put the motor where you want it.

Oh, and I found the phone.

The ride height will be very low (3" or so). Yes, dry sump. Aviad pump. The oil pan is a Dan Olson. I'm actually gonna have to have it modified to remove an inch to get the motor down a little lower.

I'm trusting Darin at Fast Chassis to sort out the details of the ride height, engine placement, driveline angle, etc. Those aren't areas that I want to leave to chance. He's built and tuned the chassis on some fast cars and I'm confident this one will be top notch as well.

The car made its journey home from the chassis shop to my garage today. I'm gonna start a new updated build thread soon with some new pics.

Ok, there will be a new, updated build thread coming as soon as I get motivated, but now that the car is actually at home in my garage I've been spending my time ogling it and working on it. Here are a couple of new pics:

Carbon fiber tranny tunnel

Not my wheel, but test fitting a 33/10.5W on a 16x16" wheel.

Reworked k-member, steering rack, and front suspension to in order to get the crank centerline down where it needs to be

This started life as an ATI adapter midplate that mates a BBF to a GM transmission such as the TH400 or Powerglide. I've trimmed a lot of the excess material from it. In the first photo, only a small portion of material at the bottom of the plate (top of the photo) has been removed. The bottom photo shows the final trimmed plate.

I've removed the bracing from the underside of the factory hood. The motor sits low enough that there should be more than enough clearance to retain it. It was necessary to remove the bracing in order to make it compatible to mount the hood using dzus fasteners. The hood now only weighs 13 pounds after removal of 15 pounds of bracing. I should note that these cars come from the factory with aluminum hoods. I will have to fabricate a chrome moly tubular support to help reinforce it.

I've also been working on installing the lexan windows. There is a lot of labor hours involved in cutting and installing these. I'm using flat 1/8" lexan sheet.

Not exactly crucial to the performance of the car, but my OCD requires all details to be attended to such as trimming and reinstalling these door sill plates.
