I'm thinking it has something to do with the RPM and load. When the load is too minimal and at such a low RPM, cruising around 65 or so in 6th with 3.55 here. I think the computer has some default parameters that say hey, I don't need cruise control and then kicks it out. Something along those lines.....any tuners in here???? Something we can change?

I haven't played much with that (CC issues) and had no request for checking that I can remember but for starters. if your tuner do not input the correct transmission gear ratios, it won't work at those ratios.

My tuner did this in mine i'm pretty sure. I remember him saying right before I picked up the car...."Hey let me grab your hand held tuner real quick, I forgot to update the gearing in your trans" or something like that. It was about 2 years ago.

So does yours cut out...?

^Good, this will ensure it engaging in 5th for example. The cut out is a matter of testing.

Lito, we will have to work on mine... lol

Does this (transmission gearing) affect the tune at all...? Wouldn't loads, gearing, and such affect timing, fuel, etc...?

Mine doesn't cut out with cruise on, but I've got 4.10s and cruise in 6th at 75mph turning around 2500rpm

Not for the calculation of load hence fuel/timing but for other parts of the tune, yes, more important in the autos obviously.

Have you gotten your T-56M yet? How do you like it?
How did your custom gearing come out?

I guess JPC's tuner has the cruise thing figured out. Mine has never cutout in 5th or 6th with either the 3.55's or the 4.10's. (305/40R18 rear tire & .50 6th)

This is the connector:

http://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/product_info.php/products_id/900

Just apply ground and 12v thru a switch.

Thaks Lito; good information. I ordered one and have it in my hand. I *personally* don't need the lockout, but my wife might occasionally drive the car (she is a damn good driver who respects the POWAH, but she might not be able to see over the 3" cowl anymore, Mwahahaaa) anyway...I don't want her fighting reverse, so I am going to push-button wire it.

Does it matter which wire gets ground and 12V, IE is there a polarity on this solenoid, or does it matter? There are no +/- on the harness that I can tell and I didn't look at the connector on the tranny in detail before installation.

I know it is a 50/50...wire it and it works or not - if not, reverse it - but wondering if someone already knows.

Also: What is the typical fluid requirement on a fluid change? I drained it, then it only took 3 1/4 quarts or so before it was full and ran out of the fill plug. Do you guys think that after use, 3/4 or a quart or so stays in the tranny and is un-drainable?

DiMora, I wired up the pink wire to positive (figured it was the closest to red. lol) Just wire it up and see if it works. The green I have to ground which I used one of the old shifter studs.

I also experienced the same. I filled it for the first time and it took a lot more than when I R&Red the fluid.

Just fill it till it pukes out the fill hole.

Thanks Gerald; My wires were both black (no colors). I ordered mine from the link Lito posted several pages back.

That's what I did (on the fluid change)

There is no specific polarity, will work either way with the solenoid.

Thank you, Lito. I'll wire it up this week. Already ran the wires; just need to tap into 12V and add my push-button.

Can any of you tuners tell me what needs to be done so my cruise control works in 5th gear with the T56 Magnum XL?

I have cruise in 3,4 and 6, but no fifth. I haven't checked 1 or 2 (don't see the point) but I would like to have 5th working.

My tuner has my tune locked withe the exception of revolutions per mile (tire size) and rear axle ratio (which I have set to the correct 3.55).

Thanks.

Even with it open there is nothing you can do with the flasher, for starters, your tuner should begin by setting the proper gear ratios in the tune, that and a correct N/V setting should do it (N/V is ls usually learnt any way).
