Even with it open there is nothing you can do with the flasher, for starters, your tuner should begin by setting the proper gear ratios in the tune, that and a correct N/V setting should do it (N/V is ls usually learnt any way).

What is an NV setting?

Oh...and thanks for chiming in, Lito. :beerchug2:

My 6060 5th gear doesn't work for cruise either. I have changed thef table axis for 6 gears and have all the correct ratios in it too. I'm sure a comparison between a stock gt500 and gt tune would yield some useful information. Too bad I can only see my cars stock tune.

Funny, cruis control works in 5th with my old ass viper spec t56. You know the one that you have to cut part of the trans tunnel to fit in that we were using way back when.

My installer told me this too. He checked with tremec and it was designed that way.

Yes it's normal. I was surprised how tight it was getting the wiring plugs hooked up again. Trans was pressing against the tunnel pretty tight on one side. I tried prying it out while tightening down the trans mounting bolts but ended up having noises and binding issues. Loosened up the mounting bolts, let everything relax and snugged the bolts back down and no more issues. It's just fucking tight!

I did, and yes it is normal. Remember the shift lever is mounted to the right of the shifter protruding from the tranny, so once the shifter is in it will be almost centered.

Here is how mine looks from inside the car:

Yeah mine looks the same way! Thanks! I couldn't put my shift boot on because there wasn't much room to the left to get 1st..any ideas? I was going to use my air saw to cut a little but if I don't have to then I don't want to

I'm running the steeda tri ax on my T56 with out the boot, and every now and then when I shift I catch a wiff of gear oil. I suspect because the boot is not installed.

How is the tri ax compared to stock. Worth the money?

Could you add a short shift to this transmission

Yes; The Steeda Tri-Ax shortens throw by 25%.

You can read my write-up / review in the how-to section of this forum. I am withholding judgement on it until I get some more seat / stick time with it. My initial impression is that I LOVE the shorter throw and added notchiness, but I don't like the increased effort pulling to the left to get into first and second, but many have said it will loosen up a bit as I use it. It is brand-new on my car so I need some time with it. If it does not loosen up a bit, I will either cut the centering springs down a bit, get ones that are not as strong, or remove the Tri-Ax completely from the car. IMHO it will be perfect if the it loosens or if the springs selected are not as strong. I'm calling Steeda next week to inquire about weaker centering spring availability.

Anybody having issues grinding second gear? I have had this transmission for about 1.5 years and take it to the drag strip a couple times a year. The past few times I never know if it's going to go into second gear or just grind. I initially filled it with regular ATF, then went to Mobil 1 ATF. Didn't really like that so I went back to ATF and now I am using Pennzoil Synchromesh which is the smoothest and easiest shifting of all of the oils that I have used, but it still grinds.
