TVS belt and cooldown

Two questions I've been thinking about regarding the TVS (specifically VMP if that matters at all), searching didn't really yield any results that I saw so here it goes.

1. If I read correctly, the way the belt is run for the TVS is done in such a way where if the belt slips off the pulley or breaks the car will still drive okay it just will not be making any boost because the supercharger won't be spinning. Is that right? And if so, would it cause any damage to the car to drive it that way until I can get it somewhere to be fixed?

2. This will be my first foray into forced induction, I know turbochargers at least used to need to be given time to cool down because of the oil and high temps, hence the advent of turbo timers if those without the patience to wait. I've never heard of a supercharger needing this due to being belt driven, and I assume there is not really any warm up period either. But just in case my assumptions are incorrect, please let me know so I don't damage this thing.

moved, this is not tech on this board, please be more aware of where you're posting.

1) no belt, no accessories driven on the 5.0

2) there are temp concerns, more so sub freezing than heat, however heat soak will cause loss of power like any other application. cold temps contract the casing and some companies warn of using blowers below certain temps

If I'm reading the diagram in the instructions right you lose the AC if the supercharger belt breaks or comes off.

Superchargers are not prone to the same kind of overheated bearing failures as turbochargers. A turbo basically sits on the exhaust manifold and soaks in that heat cooking the oil. Plus turbos spin 2x faster. The TVS is a reliable design used by many OEMs, I wouldnt be concerned about throwing belts with this design.

PD blowers, like Roush, run just fine in sub freezing temps. As long as you have a 50-50 water-glycol mix, you are good to go. And they don't throw belts.
