Washed and vacuumed the '05 GT for the first time.

One learns things about a car just cleaning it up.

Contrary to the dealer's checklist, the wiper blades are rotted, stringy and bad.

But not upset. Any used car on a lot with 100k miles plus is going to require $2k - $3k or more in parts and labor almost immediately.

I found out the 20" AM rims are not that difficult to clean.

Installed new Trico 25-200DT & 25-220DT wiper blades from Discount Tire.

Replaced the set of light green vavle stem caps with black ones.

Reset all of the various monitors in the instrument displace.

Set up a new logbook to keep track of things.

Making preparations to print out all the owners manuals that did not come with the '05 GT:

FORD Owners Manual for the 2005 Mustang.
This manual was not with the car when purchased.
Found a website with this manual in PDF for no charge.
The only page missing was the front cover. Downloaded it. No charge.

Vortech V2 Installation Manual
This manual in PDF from the Vortech Support page. Downloaded it. No charge.

Kenwood Excelon Owner's Manual for Models DDX9907XR, DDX9707S or DMX957XR, DMX907S, DMX9707S

Short of removing the unit from the dash and reading the label on the back, I don't know what model it is.

Downloaded the manual that covers all of these models. No charge from the Kenwood Support page.

Later: Narrowed the model numbers to either DDX9907XR or DDX9707S per features.

Tried out the DVD: works well.

All of the above manuals are about (500) printed pages.

Made some more progress on the swap. I had to ditch the PMAS because the coolant reservoir would not fit next to the master cylinder. I guess the 11-14 have a different brake booster and master cylinder…..different enough to cause some issues with fitment. I decided to go with the JLT instead. The air box required a decent amount of trimming to fit, but it wasn’t too bad and the hood will close. Extended the AC wires because they were very tight on the GT500 harness. Going to finish relocating my purge valve tomorrow and finish the vacuum lines. I have to figure out what I’m doing exhaust wise to start but I have some ideas. Hoping to have it fired up by the end of the month.

I have the BBK longtube headers with their catted x pipe. I have a 2013 exhaust for it and I may just use that to get it going til I can get it broken in and get it to an exhaust shop up the road from me.

You can start it with open headers and then mock up the exhaust to get it to the muffler shop. I have used Band clamps and stainless wire to try to hold it in place but depends on how they connect & align.

While waiting for the delivery of the new exhaust pipes (which are 3 business days past due), the codes were read.

230 miles have been put on this '05 GT since buying the car a month ago.

The codes have been read several times with the same results:
- P0133, Pending
- (3) red flashing I/M monitors:
- CAT
- O2
- HTR

Also, there are no values displayed for Bank 1 & 2, Sensor 2 (downstream). I suspect these have been 'capped'.

Bank 1 & 2, Sensor 1 (upstream) have values of .22 & .12 vdc.

Started on my brakes.. we don't live on a shoestring budget, maybe like a pack of shoestrings, so I picked up a set of rotors/pads online. The last set I bought I didn't pay enough attention and I got uncoated rotors which looked like hell after about a month of wet/dry cycles so this time I made sure to find some with painted hats/edges, they are even slotted!

Got the car jacked up last night, cleaned a bunch in the fender well, scrubbed the caliper a bit and put one corner back together. Tonight I'll try get to the others. Then I'm also going to clean the inner backsides of the wheels, God knows they need it after 18 years of use.

Sounds like there's a tune that has the rear O2 sensors shut off, in which case those readiness monitors will never go ready.

Yeah, I was trying to avoid open headers since I live in a development and I am trying to be kind to the neighbors. It’s bad enough I leave very early in the morning for work!

I think I’m just going to take my exhaust down in pcs to the exhaust shop and ask them to make the pipes fit together for the time being! I have 2 sets of mufflers. A Borla touring which is what I’m putting on first, and then a set of Flowmaster outlaws. I have both ends of the sound spectrum covered! Lol
