White smoke!! Bad day.

ringland would be my guess, when i had one let go it sounded similar...lots of white smoke, car ran decent.

Could be a turbo seal, Normally when it's a head gasket you just know. Smell of vaporized coolant, milky oil etc.

during lunch today im going to pull the turbo and see if it still smokes. if it does its motor related if not its the turbo..

A water passage couldnt leak in the turbo causing the smoke, I believe that is what he is referring to as far as the turbo is concerned.

It ended up being a piston ring land. Sending motor back to jdm to warranty it. Probably gonna sell the short block and go l&m

Well got 75% off the swap done today, I was able to look at that piston a little better and turns out it was probably caused by detonation. All the pistons looked clean and had a yellowish haze to them. And the number 4 piston looked like it melted in on it self. Still gonna swap stock block back in so I can drive it for a month or so while I rebuild the other block. On a good note the cylinder head looked great and there was only a small nik that cleaned up with some 1500 grit. Still need to check the exhaust side of the turbo just to make sure no debris found its way in there
