Wow nice view. How bad is there hike to get to the falls?
It's about a 3/4 mile or so walk on a nearly flat, 10-20 foot wide (at least) gravel covered path. No steps or stairs. The easiest access I've seen in almost any NYS park. Only Niagara Falls is as easy to get to the viewing areas of the falls. But Niagara Falls is not nearly as easy to get down to the bottom to see. You can but it's an elevator and costs money. And if you are in a wheelchair it' still fairly limited.
The rim trails however are walking only. Lots of stairs and hilly sections. We spent about 1.5 hours walking the rim trails and then up to the falls and back. If you pass through the area and have the time, it's worth checking out. It's about 15-20 minutes North of Ithaca NY. Which also have the Buttermilk Falls, but we didn't have time to go there.
I have no idea what this is, but it was a bunch of it near a boardwalk near us.
