Put heavier hose clamps on your relocation kit man. I had one of my hoses blow off more than once before I replaced those clamps with heavier ones. Just giving ya a word of warning.

Also noticed in the pics you have a breather on the pass. side but not the drivers side. I believe if you have a breather on one side you need one on the other also.

There is debate on having the pcv set up like that. I ran my Paxton that way when it was blow through. Everything was fine and no smoke or pcv smell. The pcv system on a 3v is designed to draw air in from the passenger side.

Thanks man, I will be sure to do that. Wish I would have known that sooner, Getting to the worm gear clams on the block side is a m-f'er. I'll do it to prevent any issues though. Thanks again.

Looking good. What's the eta for start up?

Already started it and let it idle for about 10 minutes to check for leaks and ensure there were no odd sounds. I would say about two weeks or so until I can get it hauled up to OKC.

And I think we need videos

You want a video of it just idling now? That I can do. If you want a video on the dyne it will be a few weeks.

Hey Fanta, just read your other engine build thread and didn't see the cr of the engine?


And trust me it is harder trying to get those clamps back on on the side of the road with oil everywhere under the car.




This build really makes me anxious to get my 298 stroker put together and in my car! Can't wait to see how it does on the dyno.

Jeremy had advised the same thing. I have seen both set-ups. Any more information to support either side would be beneficial

It can work, the problem is under boost it only leaves that one little passenger side breather to vent the crankcase pressue. The higher boost from the manifold prevents the pcv valve from allowing the crankcase pressure out, effectively keeping it closed under boost. When you let off it will open back up and vent. By removing the boost from the top of the valve it allows the crankcase pressure to vent on that side as well as the p-side when under boost. On a turbo setup you want to vent the crankcase as much as you can sicne it generate full boost down lower in the rpm range. I would reccomend a oil fill neck breather as well. The passenger side being designed to or drawing in air to the crankcase is a myth.
