Why? MT and Hoosier both make a bias ply front runner in 28" but neither have a 28" radial.

I'm not going to mix radial rears with bias fronts, more peace of mind when driving on the street with them as well.

when your front tire is 4.5 inches wide, no driving on the street should give you piece of mind lol. radial or bias ply.

If you have ever driven on bias you will know what I mean. People DD these rims all the time, not my cup of tea but if I want to drive them to/from the track I don't have to worry about floating all over the highway.

Sub'd. Been looking into these for a while now but haven't pulled the trigger because I'm not sure how they'll look.

Cool! It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

I'm using the 26" tall M&H front runner radials, but on a 5" rim:

I drive them on the street with radials on the back, but only to/from the track and not more than 70 mph. They handle and feel fine, I just don't take corners very fast.

They are too short, though, so a 28" or 27" on a 17" rim would be a great option!!!

Found out yesterday from a source I ran into at the track that all those 28" radials are stuck on a train somewhere in the snow and Mickey Thompson doesn't know exactly where they are. That would explain the inconsistent and constantly changing estimated shipping dates. This info came from a very wealthy and well connected person who had placed an order for these tires back in December but finally gave up and picked up some bias plies last week for his ride.
