Looking good

Awesome upgrades Billy!

Thanks guys. It sucks not being able to go race for so long and working SO much right now. I should have a super fast car this fall though! Then this winter I will do the 12pt cage and make it a legal 8.50 car. This fall I will just run where I can get away with it. The goal is 8.50 for this year and I am way behind getting started.

I saw a viper the other day that had his intake nickel plated. Pretty good look. Just an idea.

Really hard to get over this look. It must be done. I just need to find somewhere to get it done.

For now I plan to get the car cranked up and back on the ground next weekend with the shit job intake and valve covers while I have time to do it. Then I can find a platter to do the intake and valve covers in nickel like above. Its time to here this thing running again!

You could do a chrome powdercoat on the intake and go with a set of chrome frpp valve covers.

I like the look of your motor right now though. The Hogans intake really sets it off imo. It looks like a mutant Jaguar ready to pounce.

It is a JPC intake and the top is FUBAR. The sides don't look bad. I have thought about the chrome powder coating but I like the idea of the real nickel plating. The JPC intake is ceramic coated now and the VC are metallic urethane coated like it all was before but this time they did a shit job on them.

I redid the way the crank support mounts. First I tapped the spacers between the rear plate and the front plate.

Then I tested the fit on the front plate.

Here are both plates bolted together.

Here is the first plate mounted on the motor.

Her is both together and cleaned up.

This is a shot of the motor as it was installed.

For those that haven't seen my head cooling mod.

And finally the motor is in the car. I will finish up next weekend and start the car.

So since its looking more and more like a race car, should I loose the filter and intake pipe and go with a screen? I still drive quite a bit on the street when the car is running but, my oil is changed about every 500 miles.

Lol. I hear you Brother.
You gonna have her going soon?

I plan to start it next weekend on Saturday. I have been in touch with Manuel and a start up tune with low timing and the ID2000 file is on the way. I plan to do my first datalog next Sunday if all goes well on the start up. Just need to put the street tires back on for the street pulls. I don't like the skinny's on the street at speed.

I was wondering why the pulley was extended and now I see. That is one hell of a support. The rest looks good. Ho much work is it going to take to strip the intake to get it ready for nickel coating?

With a Procharger setup it sets out there pretty far. That is why I built the support. With a Kellogg crank the balancer is only on the crank about 3/4 of an inch. You can imagine the load a 12 rib belt puts on the front of the pulley at 20 psi. I had IW make me an 8rib setup a while back and then the 12 rib. They now sell them on there site, but I had the first ones of each. They are the ones that built the spacers for me as well.

As for the intake an valve covers, about an hour at the shop with the sand blaster and the finish will be history.
