Jim,
You may be jumping the gun or reading more into what is there.

Brian (skwerl) may very well have just meant that the assembly portion of the long block is too easy/fun/whatever to pay someone to do it. I personally didn't read his response as a dig towards JDM.

Ok, I'll look at your side of his comment

Dynoed on a Dynapack. These setups are amazing!!!! So much capability compared to roller dynos.

You can setup the dyno so that you tell it to let the drivetrain ramp up from 2,000 RPM to 5,000 RPM in 7 seconds or whatever time you want.
And the dyno will hold the drivetrain/motor at 5,000 rpm even with your foot buried in the throttle.

This provides for a much better datalog as opposed to a pull from 2K to 5K in 3 seconds. lol
I was doing 2K to 7K pulls in 12 seconds; this provided Lito, my tuner with awesome data resolution. Otherwise, with a roller type setup, he would have ended up with like 5 seconds worth of data.

Oh and its silent... No noise, all the noise is from the car... lol

The shop I went to was Brads Custom Auto:

Its too much!! You rest your foot on the throttle and the car accelerates...slowly, but still accelerates. I have to retrain my foot to move in milimeters. lol

When pulling from a light or merging, the car speeds up instantly even when just part throttling. 70 MPH is like instant. Compared to driving the other car 2011 Ford Edge Sport AWD (315HP), it at least takes time to get to 50 MPH in part throttle. You have to smash the throttle to accelerate.

With the Mustang, its more of an 1/8 or 1/16 of the throttle and you are already going 60 MPH off the line. lol Short shifting, skipping 2nd gear. Oh yeah, I have to skip gears... 1-3, 2-4, etc... The motor is purring and whizzing by all the other cars.

Street tires are pointless. I had to swap out to my drag radials, we have 3 days of sunshine, and its handling the power much better. But still breaks tires loose at will in pretty much any of the first 3 gears.

Still working on some drive-ability issues; normal tweaks needs due to new cams and what have you. Should be all done by this weekend.

Oh and I forgot how thirsty this motor is... sigh LOL

I have no idea what the Gospel Mission is...
I don't think so.

You don't know about Brad's?? Pretty good shop; wish I would have gone there a long time ago when I did gears and exhaust.

It you are near 600WHP, I would suggest drag radials for the warm dry weather. Any street tire you put on there will not provide traction.

Looking for some help/advise...

Update: Still working on some driveability bugs (minor stuff).

First item is one that I am unsure whether its a drive-ability or a driver issue.
When I shift under WOT, the power shuts down like hitting a wall.
So, going WOT, lift, shift, release clutch/WOT...and that transition is HARD!!! It feel like the motor hiccuped/stumbled. As soon as you lift and then apply the power, its a violent transition.

Wondering if its driver or tune related...

And the fuel cut-off/RPM limiter is set really hard too. Is it possible to set the limiter a little more gradual/softer?

I need to discuss with Lito...

You need to stay off that limiter with a boosted car. I had Manuel set mine at 7800 so I could stay off it when shifting at 7200- 7500. The more power you make, the eisier it is to hit it and the harsher the result when you do.

What about the shifting...? I don't bounce off the limiter, but I have tapped it when spinning the tires on a low gear.

I'd like to figure out the shifting...
