I don't remember on the wideband for sure but I believe so. Also yes, was fine under less load or lower rpms. Started to cut out or break up at wot above about 4000 rpm

Dig this. I have a customer that was having running/code issues kind of like yours. His balancer bolt backed off just enough for the balancer to freak the crank trigger out.

I've had that bolt work its way out in the past too.

May be something to check.

Ill take a look at it this weekend while I have the motor back out. :thud:

Looks like I found my issue. My copper head gaskets and SS o-rings are leaking. Compression test was good a when I first checked but when the car is under boost it is pressurizing the coolant system. That led me to pull the plugs and look into the cylinder and I can see pitting in the cylinder walls on several cylinders. Piston tops look good and the plugs look new. I guess I will find out what the issue is as I tear into it one more time. There is oil in the cylinders so I assume the rings are toast now. I may just get a new block and go back to stock head gaskets at this point. I cannot trust this copper head gasket setup at this point if what I think is the issue. I just hope the brand new set of pistons is okay.

If anyone has a lead on a block I am in the market.

Yea, Im not real excited about it either. I was very leery about using the copper gasket setup and it was supposed to be the best shit in the world. I am not impressed. Lesson learned, stick with what was working! I have had the stock gaskets to 25 psi with 9.0:1 cr. I should have kept them for the 12.0:1 cr build.

Its a major bummer that's for sure... At least I have some closer now and it explains the shitty time I have had the last couple weeks. Also explains the exhaust leak sound I could not find at the headers.

I know, I should have went with my gut on this one.

What are you looking for in a block?

05 up 3v block that would FOR SURE clean up with a .020 bore with no other damage. I will have to race prep what ever I buy. I just need a good block, if my pistons are not damaged. If they are I will look towards a 3.7 bore build. I

His block has been cut for the o-rings. He is looking to go back to stock head gaskets. Block has been sleeved before iircl

I may have a used stock shortblock with about 63k miles on it. I am waiting on a budy of mine to try to save up to get it but he may back out.

Can you re-sleeve your block and save the race prep time

No, not if changing back to stock gaskets. If I am looking at new pistons and resleeving several cylinder then a 3.7 sleeve kit may be in my future with a good used block. IDK at this point.

Exactly, with the o-ring grooves cut I have to start with another block to use stock gaskets. If not for that I could resleeve all 8 cylinders for about $800.

PM me the info and pics.
