I thinking I should order this tool.

http://m.summitracing.com/parts/TFS-90100/

That is what I bought but I only had two adjustable lifters, it did not have that other stuff. I also took two extra rocker arms and drilled the oil hole larger so the alen wrench would go though it. Be ready with some really good drill bits though, those rockers are hard ass steel.

Actually, the one you linked shows for 2v and 4v only. I don't have any experience with those so I don't know if the lifters are the same or not.

Degreeing isn't that difficult once you actually do it. Just getting things set up and trusting you're doing it right is what slows you down!

(thanks again to 05stroker for use of his 'kit' and adjustable lifter with larger-drilled-hole rocker )

I would *strongly recommend* that you reconsider using tty head bolts, and use arp's instead. You don't want the head to lift under boost and pop a gasket and ruin your 10k build.

Yeap, so much for a budget build.

Does this look right?

The builder was only able to set the cams at
106.5 front gear 4 degrees retard
105.75 rear gear is at 0

No! The blue links on the timing chains need to be lined up properly on the TFS crank gear marks and cam phaser marks. Both blue links need to be on whatever key position you selected on the crank, usually around 6 oclock and one on the "L" mark on the left head while at about 12 oclock and the other on the "R" mark while at about 11 oclock.

Edit: It's entirely possible it could be correct but it's not lined up for the #1 cylinder to be a TDC on the compression stroke and both cam phasers in their respective locations. Your builder may not have lined up the blue links either..

Thanks for the info. I'll look at your thread for a picture to reference. I'm sure it's on TDC but the marks and links are not lined up. To me it's a pretty important detail for a 3V.

As per Bruce. Iirc
It takes like 72 rotations once lined up to line up again

In this case I think it just might be a matter of repositioning the timing chains. I'll double check before its sealed up.

As it turns out the motor was turned after the links/timing marks were lined up. Could this be the reason why the links don't match up and is it really 72 turns to get them to line up?

Edit: We just counted links and they are the same on both sides.

Like I said I'm pretty sure Bruce said so. Look for his recent posts in cam discussion topics.

Fairly certain its like 72 rotations once they meet. Before they meet again

According to the builder they were lined up before the motor was turned. I left the shop after counting links. I don't think I want turn the motor over that many times.

It's a lot of revolutions. If you keep turning it over they will line back up but have some patience, it takes awhile.

I've done it a few times, it is a LOT of turns but I don't think it was 72, maybe closer to 20 - 25 +/- IIRC. Either that or it is 72 and I lost my mind while doing it lol

Got some more goodies,

I also pick up a fuel rails and 60lbs injectors. Since the motor is coming I'm wondering if I should replace my Spec 3+ or keep using it until it goes out. Right now it's got about 30k on it and still grabs very well.
