Could it be the throwout bearing that's rattling?
I had a similar thing happen that I could never pin point for about 6 months until I had to change out rear tires and found my tpms sensor had broken off and was being thrown around inside the tire. Sensor light never came on so never guessed that. May want to rule that out
Okay so it when warms up it does it. Turn car off and gone then back after a bit? I had this tin can rattle before my whole driver cat guts blew out. Sounded like the tab of a soda can rattling in the can.
I have a thread somewhere on here about it. But would be fine then show up when it warmed up. I'd shut car off and turn on and gone then would be back shortly.
Maybe take the midpipe off and shake it. I'll see if I can find my thread and link here. But was just the cat getting ready to crap itself.
I would think you would feel the vibration of a bad u joint, but maybe not. I would call a bad u joint a clanging noise. It appears you have isolated it to a driveline issue, light load, at take off. Is it only while you let the clutch out, or only after its fully released? Does the clutch slip if you drive aggressively. Do you ever hear it during gear changes? Does the noise change with vehicle speed or engine speed, or not at all? I hate to say take the transmission out it that isn't it.
My transmission makes a knocking rattling noise in neutral w/ clutch out, but I have a spec stage 3 clutch and urethane motor mounts so I don't worry about it.
