I got the install all done and my no start issue figured out. Car runs great. Did a small pull in third gear from 2-4000 rpm and boost gauge maxed at 5psi. I checked for vacuum leaks with a smoke machine and found none. I do have a softer spring in the BPV because I have cams. I spoke with mike at kennebell and told him I had cams and longtubes and believes that’s why the boost is low. I sent a picture to him and he said everything appears to be installed correctly. He wants me to measure the pulley and get back with him so he can send me another one to get back up to 9-10 psi. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue. The boost gauge does not jump around it stays constant. At idle I have 11-14 hg WOT goes to 5 psi (Atleast to 4000 rpm) and when I left off it goes to 24hg. belt doesn’t appear to be slipping. I have all stock pulleys on my car. Lito asked if I had udps I said no. Only mods besides the blower are hotrod cams, bbk ceramic longtubes , custom fabricated off-road prochamber and that’s it.

Do you have cams and longtubes also?

Remember boost is a measure of restriction. LTs and cams reduce restrictions and lower boost levels. This is not a bad thing. See what it traps or makes on a Dino and then u can seee if the car is making power it’s supposed to

Very true. I’m gonna measure the pulley and Mike is gonna send me a smaller pulley to bring it back up.

IF those cams and headers reduce restrictions (boost) that much, then I don't know that I would just suggest getting a smaller pulley to raise the boost. The blower is still moving the same amount of air as if the car didn't have cams and headers.

What I'm trying to say... You don't want to kill the short block (assuming your stock).

I also doubt your cams and headers are reducing boost that much (provided the pulley you have is the one you think you have).

Yeah I’m going to measure it when I get home and see what pulley is on there. Lito says it will be safe with 3-4 psi more. Lito says to spin it higher and make more boost. He says with my cams it will more more power in the higher rpm range too.

I took a video of the bpv when i revved it. It is opening and closing and made sure I had the orifice in the right way towards the bpv. However when I have the ac on and I rev it, I hear this loud sucking/woosh type noise. I know this is just a base tune so far but Is this because the bpv is opening and allowing boost in? It doesn’t do this with the ac off. No belt slippage that I can tell.

Here is a video of the BPV when free revving. Is this normal bpv function? It does have a liter spring. And also maybe this is normal but what is that “woosh/sucking” sound. Note: I’m not talking about the blower whine or whistle at idle if that is what you even call it

4000 rpm is low. At 6500 you'll probably be about 7-8 psi. The stock 2.6 comes with a 4" dia pulley. That with a stock engine pulley means its spinning relatively slowly. So that with the cams/headers seems right to me.

I don't have a KB anymore but, when I did, it pushed 9-10 PSI with headers. Stock cam and motor.

But, as noted above, not at 4000. You should check the boost right at redline, WOT. If you're at 9 PSI, call it good.

Sounds good. I’ll talk with Lito see what he wants to do and see if we can do a WOT to redline

You don't have to go right to 6500, run it up to 5000 and look at the data, then 5500, 6000, 6500. Ease into it. There's no rush to blow up your motor. Also no rush for big boost. Just be patient. The power will come.

Thank you. I spoke with mike at kennebell regarding that video I linked (if anyone watched it) and he said that sound was normal. But they are sending me a smaller pulley too but before I switch it over I’ll ask Lito if we can do higher wot pull and see where the boost is

Mike sent me a 3-1/2 pulley as opposed to the 3-7/8ths pulley that’s on there now. Lito confirmed this will be safe but we will be datalogging short WOTS before we go all the way. He said these blowers aren’t logarithmic like centri blowers. Boost will raise up in the top end but not by much he said.

Okay is 3.5 what you have? And tell me, what tube do you have for the intake. That looks loads better.

I made the intake out of 4" round alum. 3.5 top, 10% OD bottom

Looks like the intake setup I fabbed up for mine!
Lito did a great job tuning my KB setup (when I had it)! You're in good hands. Keep us posted!
