cmcdp (charge motion control delete plates) ???

What is the benefit of cmcdp (charge motion control delete plates) ? Is there a noticeable performance gain, or is it minimal ? An explanation of these is appreciated.

There are butterflies in the stock plates. The butterflies are restrictive. CMDPs are less restrictive which equals more power. However, you will need a tune for them.

for the money they are worth it, mod can be done in under 30 minutes too... very easy.

you will notice a slight increase in power in the mid to top end, but not much.

I would do them along with something else so you can feel more via buttdyno, like under drive pullies or electric water pump.

i felt more tq on the bottom end... defintely worth the money since i got them when they were $100.

It will definately help in the mid to upper rpm band as mentioned above. You can sometimes find them used for 100 and new for 150. We got one set in stock if you wanna snatch em. But definatly a great mod for the $$ especially if you are gonna add more upgrades in the future.

Actually if you observed any forum rules or etiquit you would know you should search first before clogging the forums with a worthless noob post that has been seen and talked about for 4 years. Your way outa line and that comment was uncalled for. Reposts like this often get deleted especially when u start saying nasty things to people. Kleistang was honestly trying to help you out before you got flamed to much because not searching for basic posts like this is a sore spot for some. That turns the thread off topic into a stupid yelling, name calling match instead of tech answers. Just letting you know, thanks.

(The time it took you to post a new thread u could have clicked search typed cmcdp and had numerous threads with every answer to every question you could possibly have about the matter. Plus you dont have to come back days later and wait for answers you can find the answer backed up from numerous sources on the spot.)

You will have to forgive kleistang. He did not get the memo when you signed up stating that you were an extremely busy man and your time was way too valuable to waste using a search button to find the answer to a question that has been asked numerous times a week for the last four years on practically every S197 related forum board on the internet.

I beg for forgiveness from the elders of the forum. I thought I asked a simple question, graciously. I admit my reply was out of line. As for searching the forums, I did, and found a very informitive and well written document on modifying the original plates and I did not find the exact answers I was seeking there, so , I asked a question. Before digging into and converting my own plates. I really feel the comment was uncalled for, yes I'm a noob to this generation of vehichles. I cut my teeth on 4 barrel carbs , and the hot ticket was electronic ignitions. So this noob freshley hatched from the dinosaur pit again begs for forgiveness, if you really feel the need to delete the post, flame me or ban me from the site, then feel free. But accusing me of clogging the forum with unnessacary post, when Mr. Senior Member, Kleistang has several hundred post ranging from oh dude thats way cool, to, my gf's street racing habits is a bit like calling the kettle black, isn't it ? So if there is anyone who wishes to accept my offering of peace, then thank you. I really thought this was a friendly forum where ALL (not just the experts or senior click) could ask questions and recieve answers without being criticized for not being current with all the issues.

Have to have thick skin to hang out on around these guys on this forum trust me I learned that right away. But if you can ignore the occasional flame these guys know their stuff and you will even find yourself laughing your ass off in the non tech sections. Its worth it because this is the place for honest opinions and knowledgeable tech info.

Depending on the vehicle I have seen anywhere from 0 gain up to 10rwhp or so depending on the level of mods and the condition of the tune before the plates. On my car I felt a small SOTP difference and about 10rwhp on the dyno.

its been my experience that when someone posts "STFU!", its more of a joke as compared to telling someone to shut their effin mouth.
now that that is out of the way, is there a real difference in the upgraded plates? im buying a used set of stockers off someone and makin my own plates. should i port them or anyhting like that? from what ive seen and heard they are a different size than the intake runner and the inlet port on the head. i already plan on polishing them up a bit to maybe get them to stand out a bit more. and i may drill and tap them as well just in case oh and does anyone know offhand the size of the tapping?

I would change them out just for the saftey purpose of your engine. I didnt change mine out until about 6 weeks ago when my butterfly plate broke, and decided to destroy my engine. Now im about 8K less in the pocket book. Here are a few pics. Enjoy!!!

yea a big one. but its all put back together and running now. tuned it yesterday and couldnt be happier.

and to the OP yes i would change them!! a $100-$400 mod cost me 8k.
