The AZ ones are okay for installing a new O2 sensor, but from my experence, they don't work well on a really tight one that is cold (ambient temp).

I should try warming the engine up first. Might work then.

Be sure to usa Kroil. And heat the bung up with a mapp gas torch instead of firing the engine up, it would be a hand and arm burner otherwise.

Took it for a drive today with the Mrs. It was her first time in it with the coyote swap. She loves it, minus the exhaust. Stopped by an exhaust shop up the road from me and scheduled an appointment to get that taken care of the 26th. Car is running much better and wants to rev. A little sluggish down low yet but it’s getting better. Still no codes, which I am pleasantly surprised about. Hopefully the light stays off! Going to drive it and get some break in miles on it before going crazy. Haven’t taken it above 5500 rpm yet. Once I get some miles on it and change the break in oil I’ll really get to see what it is capable of!

Success!

Flooded the base of the stuck sensor with penetrating oil. Let it set for an hour. Sprayed it 2-3 more times during the hour.

Then using the AutoZone O2 removal tool and a 3/8" drive breaker bar, (using extentions), worked the tool forth and back about 10 times, then applied force to break the sensor loose.

It broke loose and removal was easy.

The new sensor thread in easily. I sensed no problem with the threads in the manifold. So using the offset tool and a heavy duty 3/8" drive rachet the sensor was tightened to approx. 30 ft lbs.

Connected the sensor pigtail, and the vaccuum hose to the brake booster, the car was ready for a test drive, after erasing the existing codes.

Drove it around in-town for 20 miles. No check engine light yet. The GT ran well. The rich fumes smell is gone. The car ran well smooth and strong.

The codes will be read again in another 50 mies.

"Bled" the brakes with the kids... when I say bled I mean I did it alone with them watching and telling me when the bubbles stopped. While they're definitely better than they were before they still don't feel good, I guess a 5 year old may not be the best brake inspector..

Tell me about it! Kids are worthless...just try getting one to install a timing kit on a 3v....better off doing it yourself and save the Animal Crackers.

Today? Nothing, it's still sitting in the shop waiting to have the tune issues sorted out.

20 years ago today though, took delivery with 4 miles on her:

And while they were detailing it, I had plenty of time to drool over this:

Man, cameras have some so far

Got the oil changed over the weekend, lubed up the rear control arms and panhard bar and reset the tire pressures.
Need to figure out an easy way to flush the coolant which is way overdue.
Still loving the jacking rails.

Took a peek under the wife's Shelby and was frustrated to find that the rear pinion seal is leaking. Car hasn't moved in about 3-4 months and there was some wetness on the floor under the rear axle, so that made me check.
I'm thinking I'm actually gonna ask a transmission tech I used to work with to do this job for me. I've seen him do them on F150s a few times and he always made it look easy.
My worry is messing with the preload and dealing with that crush sleeve.

Finally broke down & ordered a full set of WeatherTech molded floor mats in matted black that fit 05-09 S197's to replace the original black rubber Mustang GT mats I had bought from CJ Pony Parts right after I bought the car back in 10-2017 (had worn thru the top section of the driver side floor mat thus it had split from the rest of the mat).

Installed them after 1st cleaning up the carpet...............after getting them all installed, now I'm kicking myself for not getting these from the jump. The fit is so tight to the floor pan area & the color almost seems to blend into the carpet--also I can now see just how much easier it's gonna be to clean her up going forward w\o needing to remove the mats--just as advertised.

Changed the oil in the Whipple.
I think it was about 8-10 years ago I did it last, so it was time.
Especially since it basically took exactly 4oz of fluid, which is a $15 bottle of the AC Delco fluid.

Took several attempts to resize them so that they will actually download to the forum....................finally paid attention to the .jpg pixel sizing that the forums will now accept so going forward this'll get easier. Note: the resizing ruined a lot of the actual picture resolution\quality that my IPhone 15 is capable of, thus doesn't show the much cleaner look that you'd be seeing in RL............

Had originally looked into LasFit molded floor mats (same type design.........different brand) but they only make them for S550-S650 (2015-2026) so had to fall back on the OG--WeatherTech--as they make these for our older 05-14 S197's..........

Here ya go!

I've had mine for...8 or 9 years and love them. I was going to get the trunk liner, but I have the Shaker subs, so they won't fit.

They look great! I might have to get a set myself!

For the larger pictures, I’ve found that if I slightly crop the high resolution photos they usually upload without issue to this forum. Something to try in the future! I also have the iPhone 15.

I was tempted to get it as well, but I already have a custom black trunk liner w\ "GT" embossed in the center installed (bought the same time as the original rubber Mustang floor mats from CJ Pony Parts.....) that is made from the same carpet materials as the interior floor carpet thus stuff I put in the trunk doesn't tend to excessively slide around, so I passed it up.
