So much for a lightweight track car like the orginal Gt350. Did you see the est weight...over 3900 lbs and an additional 33,000 over the price of a new Gt.

I think that Shelby missed the mark on this one.

I think Shelby did an awesome job overall on the GT350. As for lightweight, I think the days of American Muscle Cars weighing less than 3400lbs from the factory is over.

I love it. But, the price is what gets me. Sure a lot of awesome stuff has gone into it and all, but 63K...meh. For that price you'd think they would have rebuilt the engine with strong internals and lower compression like the GT500.

I was expecting this to basically be sort of like the Shelby GT where it was between the GT and GT500 in power and be similar in price to the Shelby GT. This is totally not what I expected. It's an awesome car and will be worth more down the road than a GT500, but I'd still take a GT500 any day.

Who is to say they didn't mess with the internals? The final specs aren't released so no one knows for sure if they just threw a Whipple on top and called it a day or put some better rods and what not in there...

Hopefully this makes the GT500 have a little more power to seperate it from the pack than...

They threw a blower on it and called it a day. No internal upgrades are available or offered. There are several well-known tuners and tuning companies being consulted (and/or about to be consulted) on the tuning to handle the compression with the blower.I am blown away by the styling. The price tag makes me uncomfortable but if I can afford one.....I'll buy it. Won't be anytime soon. Probably after this season.

I doubt they messed with the internals also but we don't know for sure, speculation is always nice.
How much psi you think they're running?

I'm glad to see they addressed the rear end. While I still prefer the 05-09 tail lights, the rear on the GT350 is a lot better than the "normal" 2010/2011 mustang. I also think it's cool that the reverse lights are down low and round like the old cars had.

I am uncertain how much I like the center exhaust. That's really the only thing for me that I'm not crazy about.

Using the original GT350 snake logo is a cool touch as well.

The car is hideous as fuck. It looks worse than a regular gt or v6 from every angle there is.

I know they didn't mess with the internals. I know Amy Boylan (President) and Gary Patterson (Vice President) personally. We discussed the car over the New Year's holiday and I was told that if I leaked anything about the car they would shoot me on sight. Initially, the boost will be set around 5 psi and tuned VERY conservatively. Tuners are being considered already. I suggested Jim D'Amore to them and from what I gathered his name was on the short list already. There will also be one of those "Thou shalt not swap blower pullies" edicts attached to the warranty. I would venture to guess it will be no higher than 550 hp at the most. Pistons & rods should be available by the time the GT350 hits the floor at Shelby.

Nice! 5psi?! Thats pretty impressive to me.
So once say the rods are swapped, the boost could be turned up or no? You think the pistons would fail?

Now why the hell would you swap the rods and not change the pistons at the same time????? With the right fuel and decent tuning I could easily see it making 700 hp at the stock bore/stroke on 10-12 psi.

Idk, aren't the pistons pretty good? Logically it would make sense

If your going through the trouble of replacing one part, i'd replace the rest with the best quality parts available. Why do it twice.
