Looking awesome. How much power is the 5.0 suppose to put out anyway, I think it was around 400, pretty sweet. Maybe I should trade my engine and S/C in on one of these, I bet it would be awesome backed by my t56.

Ford says 411hp stock on the 5.0

So very tempting.

you need to see what else is involved for it to work in a everyday car, the wire harness available will not give you the creature comforts your car has ie no dash harness a/c among a bunch of other things, not to mention other things needed to get it running like the addition of the alternator bracket + alternator, power steering kit. as simple as people first thought as myself it's really not. for a race car application it's no big deal as most don't use the stock cluster as well as most other electronic items.

you'd be better off finding a gt500 for roughly around the same price which also has more potential stock vs stock due to forged internals.

there's a guy doing a build on just getting the 5.0 into the odler car for just a race car which will give you a heads up on just how complicated it really is just to get it to run.

when i blew my motor i was gonna do this i was all well built motor is gonna cost way more might as well just do a 5.0 swap....yeah not so cheap once the big picture comes together.

I was actually thinking of putting it in my 65, but I think I am just going to stick with the 3v I already have for it.

So some have mentioned it, what are the plans? You are swapping to the new controller, but are you planning on it being able to run stock gauges and such? I hope in a couple years to get this into mine for AutoX. So close to what you are doing may be what I do.

Hmm, if theres going to be a bunch of extra crap to do to make this work for the street like a factory application perhaps I wont be doing this. But, I could build a 5.0 shortblock and keep the rest the same, right? Custom manifold?

Do you mean using a Coyote shortblock with 3v heads? If so, the answer is no. The Coyote block is not compatible with any heads besides the 5.0 heads.
