Cool, Built, Not Bought!

How difficult was the wiring? Did you get the cluster and gauges to work? How about the trans?

This was first power-up so a lot still disconnected. But to answer your question, yes everything works! 2018 PCM communicates with the rest of the system just fine. As far as I can tell, trans works as well as I haven’t yet driven it.

Wiring wasn’t difficult at all. Doors integrated pretty well with the 17 harness and the 18 PCM just required a re-pin of the existing connector.

did the same swap with a slightly newer Mustang. He had a lot of fabrication to do, and I suppose you as well.

Funny for all the development that went into a DOHC 5.0, the slick trick turns out to be more displacement and a roller cam.

The exhaust is surprisingly quiet and mellow.
I strongly recommend that you add an extension to the intake pipe and relocate the air filter where it'll draw ambient temperature air.

Man, that is so cool. The install looks nearly factory. Seems like you’ve got it running pretty smooth and throttle response seems alright.

looks really good in there. i would have relocated the battery to the trunk and put the coolant overflow there. then run the air filter where the coolant overflow is currently at.

Coolant overflow could have gone in the OEM location. The issue I had with the air filter was two part… Custom lines for the ABS module were a bit too high resulting in nothing more then a 3.5” diameter pipe being able to fit between it and the hood. That issue was compounded by the location of the alternator, preventing a different routing of the intake tube.

I will be working on a new intake design that sits above the radiator, between the hood, and straight in front of the TB. That should make it very easy to isolate from the engine bay and pull fresh air right from the grille area.
