Well there went close to a grand just to get the slicks on and that's with cheep wheels. Good news is I should have them and lowers on by weekend. Still waiting on wideband
if you have a tuner, I would agree with Dino, bump the limiter up to 6500-6800 and shift around 6500. Even with stock cams and intake, the extra RPMs really help carry you between gear shifts and makes a big difference on the 3vs. Gears also make the biggest different in ET. If you have 3.31s, it’s going to be really hard to get down into the 12s.

Anyone have idea of screw size and number needed for rim beads to slick? OK i found it on line. Thanks
Be sure to screw both sides of both rear wheels to the tires. Inside and outside. I used 8 on each side. That’s 16 in each wheel. Overkill perhaps, but I haven’t had a bit of trouble even at 9 psi and hard launches.

What i read said 6 per side(twelve/wheel)till mid 11,s then 8 till 200mph then bead locks. I would think vehicle weight would have a bearing. A 4000lb 11.5 car is different than a 2700lb 11.5 car. Thanks for the pics Midlife. Is that a auto? It's a beauty. Man you are testing the side walls for sure.

Thanks. That’s my toy. T56 Magnum XL 6 speed with 2.66 first gear and 4.30s in the rear. Hold 3 to 4,000 rpm, release the clutch and mash go pedal to floor at the same time. Produces 1.5 sec. 60 Ft.times. I’m sure suspension tuning can capture a couple more 10ths.

I haven't been down the 1/4 mile in forever but my Bullitt is mildly modded BBK UDP, Kooks LT with Catted H-pipe, 110 JLT CAI, HR Cams, UPR Tubular LCA's Hurst Shifter and I did 13.23 @ 112mph with Nitto 555 G2's. (No power shifting) I'm sure I could hit the 12's with the Indy 500's (255/45/18) the grip just feels so much better. So someone who really knows how to drive could easily do low 12's in my very rookie mindset.

Im with ya Brother Bullit on driving ability. I used to think i knew what I was doing but that has passed to the new reality. I had a 9second Suzuki that I drove deep into the mid tens. Im hoping the engine mounts help my shifting in GT. Midlife, you have what alot of us only dreamed of A "Pulling the front tires" car. So sweet!

I must admit a very well prepped track surface never hurts :peace:

You'll be pulling a tire soon. Lol on the Suzuki. Bikes are a bitch. Get a good shifter. It is night and day better than the stock shifter. I'm assuming you still have the tremec 3650 with stock shifter. Are do you have the MGK? IDR. Anyway, I was running a small drag radial:

Tiny things. And they have doubled in price in two years. Jeez.

I'll go find a picture of my car with these tires.

How much RWHP / RWTQ did you manage ?
Not a great deal of dyno time but here is one of my favorites. Shows 498 torque at 3600 rpm and hits 500 hp around 5800 rpm. I think it peeked at 515 hp. I have another chart or two similar that show torque peek a little lower. Heat soak I think. This tune is from Lito and drives very well. I have another from Brenspeed that drives well also but makes less power.

I got my parts today. Hope to have slicks mounted tomorrow along with LCA,s. Wheels are 3/4 pound heavier that sve stars 17lbs to 17.8 lbs for spikes. What grease is best for polyurethane bushings? I can find ptfe in lithium grease. Is that petroleum base? AFR kit is due by Wednesday. Then I'll see where im at.

I have the mgw shifter and new poly engine mounts but haven't been able to test shifter till I get my wideband in. Anyone have experience with the blowfish shifter mounts on 3650,s? Did they help? Any picks would be good if I have to fabricate one. I could easily imagine a few tenths here with three gear changes. Thanks

I highly recommend a WOT box from N2MB. It's a great tool that will help shifting. It also has window switch control which is great for controlling rpm related switches, such as nitrous. And it has two-step capabilities.

At the time of its launch 20 years ago, 300hp from 4.6L was pretty decent though, let's face it, Ford did leave a lot of power under the table. With just a decent tune alone, 325hp was possible and that would have handily beaten the 4.6 4V. I think I've got my car where it should have been from the outset with ~365hp & ~375lbft (crank) from simple bolt ons and a tune (stock HCI). That's 105hp & 73lbft more than a stock 4.6 2V!!
The Coyote is undoubtedly a much superior platform and IMO, the Gen 3/4 versions are the best N/A 5.0L engines on the planet. With just a CAI, LT headers, Gen 3 intake manifold, 93 octane tune, suspension, and tires on an 11-14 GT, an 11.XX time slip is possible.
I can attest to the potential performance of 11-14 GTs, especially in good weather. I have a 2014 GT with about 67K miles on it with the following minor upgrades:
Steeda CAI and 93 octane tune, 285/40R18 M/T SS drag radials on 18"x10" Forgestar D5 wheels, FPP rear lower control arms, Lakewood 50/50 rear drag shocks.

The car has run 11.9x on two occasions (very low DA), so with the additional mods that you suggested, I'm sure you could achieve 11.xx ETs on a fairly regular basis. I have attached a couple of slips from Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida. Car number 1113 (my bracket number) and car number 2 (track assigned at T&T). As also mentioned in this thread, weight reduction included removing the passenger and back seats, empty trunk, and less than a 1/4 tank of fuel. Full weight, these times would be 1.5-2 tenths higher.
