With a stock block the oversize valves are a waste of time.

With that much anticipated power I'd seriously look into an SFI approved flexplate.

Heads are already on.....not going to take them off now.

When we install the trans will upgrade to new flexplate.

Got a Level10 5R and a triple disc converter
Just got it done in september, they quoted me a good price, got a deal with the converter thrown in. Gave me a solid estimate on how long it would take.
I'd do it again.

Thank you... I just want to know "FROM EXPERIENCE" who has direct knowledge of 5R55s Aftermarket transmissions.

Q? Have you bought and run a "5R55s trans form anyone?
Q? What is your opinion of the trans you are running?

My transmission was built by Level 10 for Vinnie Barber's car and never went in to it. I bought it and have beat the shit out of it for 3 years with no complaints what so ever.

I got a JDM tuned Super Street fighter from TCI. I have recently heard the TCI is having JDM test a new set of cluthes. I called TCI and asked about it. It appears there is some "slipping" going on.

Mine seems OK with about 2000 miles and 6 months on it. I have not blown through all the gears with sticky tires yet. I am waiting for a refresh on my break-in tune from JDM (inline waiting...Jim Jr.... can you hear that !! Ha Ha).

I am slightly concerned that I might have the slippy clutch issue. I got into it the other night and it was cold out (45 deg) and I think the rpm shot up or it felt like the wheels broke loose in 4th at 90 mph (although I doubt it). It has not done it since...

Anyway, so far so good... I think...

TCI has issues with clutchs. They have a new design coming. My trans is waiting on the new ones to arrive.

So far this is what I've got figured out.
TRANS:
TCI Super Street Fighter 5r55s trans.... wait for the NEW upgraded clutch packs.
CONVERTER:
PI converter....?3200? stall still working it out
DRIVE SHAFT: 1pc aluminum.....But which one?
TUNE:
5r55 ... whom ever I select to do the final motor tune will do the trans tune

So far I think i will stay local (I'm south of Chicago)
This means either BREN-SPEED or LIVERNOIS

I have not heard of Livernois tuning the 5R, so my vote would be Brenspeed over the two. I know several people who had a built 5r take a shit on itself because the tuner thought just modifying the shift and pressure points were the same for any trans. JDM gets stock 5Rs holding up to arround 550 rwhp, so keep that into consideration.

Probably a DUMB question, but i've never had one apart. Is the input shaft on our 5R55S trannies able to be removed/slid back in like on the old C4-C6?
