There are 42 runs on the trans since Tony did the complete upgrade this past summer. All in all, there are 975 runs on it...

Well, yes and no... it has a bizarre history. Back in 2006, we had Art Carr of TX "alledgedly" rework it, and build me a TC. The TC was crap, and actually damaged the input shaft, pump, etc. just installing it. Since Art Carr was such a disaster, we didn't bother sending it back there. Tony replaced the damaged parts (with new stock parts), and Adam gave me another Art Carr TC he had in the shop. That TC was better, but never worked quite right (stall too low and slipped on the top end). So in the summer of 2007, I put in the PI 3500. Much better TC to say the least. Tony took a look at the trans then, and everything in it still looked fine. So, when we bumped up the boost and power a few months ago (summer 2008), I had him give it the full treatment (billet input shaft, etc.).

So, yes it had 933 runs on stock internals before Tony rebuilt it, but some things had been replaced because of the bad converter. But the trans never broke, no matter how hard I tried. haha

I've read about one guy that has been using this transmission in another forum ( although I think I saw that guy in here as Bullet). He has run a 10.8X on it with the stock engine on 10 lbs of boost on Saleen SC. Maybe he can chime in a little more info on this.

I thought I was dropping the cash on something I can use and abuse that was the whole point of going with who I did.

Now I have a car I'm afraid to get on... Not only do I have to put away 7 grand for a motor I have to store ~5 grand for a new tranny incase I break this one ... Time for a gt500 I suppose. Of course a 2008 Z06 has my attention .. who knows..

If chics dig vetts I'm there! lol If I go gt500 I will have to mod the crap out of it, if I go vett I'd probably leave it alone for a while... I hate this !!

if anyone offers a warranty on a new transmission I'd go that route next, does TCI offer a warranty? That would appeal to me.

Dont hold your breath...I talked to Stanley about that tranny in May of 2007...2007.....He promised July then Aug.....In Aug of 2008 they still did not have it and in Sept I started looking a different direction.

I'm about to post an in depth article on the 4R70W install for an automatic car ( its different than a 5 speed) and details on where to buy a reputable tranny for at least $1000 less than Lentech with as good a reputation with the same internals...

Made it out for only one track day (JDM day) with the Super Streetfighter. everything went great with it. seems to be an all around quality trans. pulled me to a 10.22. with a 1.39 60'. would have prob been atleast 10.0 but i left O/D on

Drive the shit out of it brother you have a better input shaft now that I dont think you had before . I have hit mine with 600/600 rw at the track and have pounded it with 700/700+ rw on the street . I can wait to take a z06 from a roll with the 700/700 tune in there , he will be like "what the fuck".

I think the fact that he said before that his trans guy said the 2nd one didnt look like the first one may proove diferent but if I took that statement wrong then I am sorry .

Yeah I trashed Larry's transmission once already, it had a hardened input shaft, tony can't explain what happend. My car was tuned by Dan @ pro-dyno in south carolina, I like to think he knows what he is doing.

I agree 100% but I'm not even going to come close in explaining what that really ment. Tony is a great guy so I won't bash him or his service, I only stated that the guy who pulled the tranny out and re-installed the new one did notice a difference in input shafts. Tony did state he made some changes so the problem wouldn't happen again. Tony also said he got the input shaft warrantied so that was the only part I didn't have to pay for.

I can say the car hits each gear harder then before the few times I did go wot I felt a nice solid shift so the car does feel different(in a good way) and I am running the exact same tune as before...


Just makes me paranoid I broke one i'm nervous to break the second one. ( not including the stock tranny )
