This recent heat wave here in SoCal reminded me how undersized the stock radiator is. So, I'm looking to upgrade to something better. What do you guys have? What are the pros/cons you've seen with yours? Where did you get them? Do you have an auto or manual? TIA...

I'm running the LFP 4 core. Seems to work fine. Last summer when it was in the 100s, highway driving with the AC on would show around 210.
Pro's-uh.. it keeps things cooler.
Con's- Dealing with LFP.

Doc, was it a direct bolt in... no mods required? Do you know if it's available for an auto trans?

Be Cool Here. Easy to install and works great on the silver Auto Car.

LFP's is good as well. We've installed quite a few of them for their customers too.

It was a direct bolt in. Didn't have to mod anything. Although the fan shroud took a little warping to get back in to place.

No idea on whether or not they have one for an auto car. Here is the link

Here are a couple of pictures of the radiator next to the stock one and what it looks like in the car
Thanks. Does the extra thickness protrude back into the engine bay? Or is it on the front side towards the grill?

Joe, which Be Cool did you get? Do you sell them, or have a link?

Aaahhh, thanks... I'll have to take a close look at the PCM clearance, then.

Does anyone with a KB have an aftermarket radiator? Did you have any clearance issues with the relocated PCM?

LOL... we were typing at the same time.

What about clearance with the PCM?

Cool... (no pun intended).

I suppose I ought to replace the KB I/C heat exchanger while I'm at it. Which one did you go with?

i went with the gords ford performance. It came with 05 specific brackets and mounting hardware, spare hoses and fittings. everythnig included. no custom fab work required.

if you do go with it though, ask for side inlet/outlet ports. makes it 10x easier than the rear in/out ports.

I also am using a Ford FRPP Lightning Bosch intercooler pump. got it on ebay for 50 bucks brand new

http://www.gordsfordperformance.com/

then click on specs

the KB Pump is really tiny and i figured with the increase in fluid capacity and the increase in area for the pump to pump through the HE, it was a good idea. the KB pump is merely a small fish tank pump anyway haha.

Don,

I have the Fluidyne on my KB auto and I am seeing temps between 180-190, and 200-210 in heat with air on. There was no issue with the stock tranny cooler, and though Adam put it in, I believe it was a direct bolt in. I am going with the Fluidyne HE this Tuesday in fact, but it will require some fabbed mounts. I am going to continue to use the Whipple HE pump with it as I couldn't get myself to pay nearly 500 after shipping for the Gord's; not when I can get a Fluidyne shipped for under $300.

Hope this helps!
