I wasn't aware of this. Is the contract to use Shelby's name running out? If so and they keep making the car with a different name, look for the jackyl to sue Ford.
Not sure the reasoning. But Shelby and Ford are still getting along nicely, so nothing to worry about there. From what I understand, Shelby wants to keep everything "Shelby" to run through his facility now, and doesn't have the capacity to support all the GT350's and GT500's. Ford wants to focus more on the SVT brand name, so it's likely the 2012 bad boy will be an SVT Cobra, and the only Shelby will be the GT350, and continuing Super Snakes on '11 and older models.

the car and driver article mentioned around 36K for the Boss 302 and well over 40 for the Laguna Seca- makes sense to me, figure a base 2011 5.0 starts at 29K add some engine and suspension upgrades body parts and interior and i would guess around 36-38. The Mach 1s in 03/04 were only about 5-7 grand more then the GTs. im guessing around the same with the Boss

That's a sweeet looking car. And it having the Pirelli Corsa's (Laguna Seca only) in that size means I can now get those tires as replacements for mine from my Ford dealer.

so the pistons aren't forged? and the redline is only 7500? I was hoping for 8200 or higher

i dont think the pistons or the rods are forged.. i was under the impression that the motor was exaclty the same as the 5.0 except for the cams.. and if thats the case.. the rods are just forged powdered rods, which arent forged. ? ?

They are Hypereutectic Aluminum like the new 5.0 has. The big improvement on these motors are the oil squirters that cool the pistons down big time and help prevent detonation. We really have been given a great motor design to start with from a factory car.

Talked to a few guys this weekend who saw them at Laguna Seca, They had the Black one and Red one there but also had a Silver and Kona Blue version.. Bad news, he said they sticker write up on the cars showed them at 60K and for the Laguna Seca edition 120K Price tag.

Not a chance IMO. They won't cost more than a GT500, and there wouldn't be any "stickers" yet.

"Sticker write up" I am guessing This is what they are estimating them to be, the guy who told me just picked up a 2011 GT500 and his comment to me was " I was shocked to see these marked up more then the GT500"
