Jermey when you talk to them, tell them alot of people are having issues. You are not the only one.

Can't you return it as defective! I am glad to hear it works and you can start to enjoy the car. It is just ashame that you had a problem with the clutch, you would never think that would be messed up. I used a single disc, I wanted a duel but could not afford it. So i guess it will be ACT for me when time comes. Let use know how you like the 6sp.

I will see if i can just return it not sure, I bought it through JPC so I will see what they say as well.

Yeah defective new clutch was obviously the last place to look but glad its figured out now!
I will be sure to post up how the clutch feels/acts once its broken in and a get a good feel for the 6speed.

Thanks for your help, and everyone else as well!

I did my first 6900rpm power shifting today and damn, difference is night and day between the 3650 and 6060. I don't know how a stock 6060 does but if its half as smooth as this transmission your going to have a orgasam.

Do you have the .74 and the .50 over drive gears?

Nope. I have .80 and .63. If I ever send it off to Liberty it will come back with .74 and .50.

Even with a .63 and 4.56 I have a final drive ratio of 2.87. Add in the tall tires and it's even better.

I believe I have close to 4500 in it. It was a "core" tranny and they fixed it and built it up. Broonze forks guides, Polished the gears, did a syncro upgrade, cyro treatment, changed over drive gears to .74 and .50. Shifts like a tranny that has a million miles on it super smooth and real easy just to jerk that stick back.

Dont sweat it, we are convinced there was a pp or tolerance/clearance issue internal to my rst from the factory. Its definetly frustrating to have this happen but im still a fan of mcleod and the rst/rxt clutches.

I have the .74 and .50 overdrive gears as well which I didnt really want I would have prefered the shorter overdrive gears. With 3.55 gears in the rear i was turning like 1600-1700rpms at 85-90mph in 6th. with 27.5" tall tires. 6th is pretty much useless under 80mph as its just so low of an rpm and laggy/droney exhuast. As the car sits i have a top speed of 305 mph on paper lol. I hit 62mph in 1st gear. (I rev to 7k)

I think when ever i save up to do some rear end mods after this im going to put 4.10s in the rear which will act more like the 3.55 again (with the 3650).

I'm pretty sure that's my issue, too. Thanks for all your legwork on this.

Great to hear all is coming together for you. It's been a long road. At least it wasn't a sorry ass defective 75$ stainless steel clutch line like mine. I went through two clutches before I isolated the symptom of a seeping line. First after first clutch failure thought was just a bad clutch, then put in the spec and thought is was slipping. After that install notice the problem was mostly heat related, thought it was fluid over heating. That wasn't it. maybe bad slave, nope not that. Installed Exedy and new slave, still same symtpoms (mushy peddle and slight slip in heat) but finally notice the slight fluid residue down by the connection to tranny. change out the line back to stock and bam!!! 90% of problem gone. R/R the cltch master cylinder for shits and giggles and all good. No slip in heat of summer, peddle never goes mushy should be ready in fall for some good 60" times and better et. Also, it's nice to feel the car lift the front end and pull hard to the right at WOT 1-4 gears...so nice to feel the power again.

I pulled my RST clutch out this week and put in a Excedy mach 600 in. CURED all my shifting/grinding problems. Not sure what's going on with Mcleod lately but I'm not impressed. Wasted lots of time and money on that POS. Anybody need a Mcleod boat anchor?
