Here are some calculations for you guys. These are the numbers i look for with my car and they may or may not help you. The lowest rpm my car sees in a race is usually 4800-5000 (2-3 shift) so i look at numbers from 5k-6.8k (still on stock springs). Here are the average hp results from that MM&FF test, starting at 5k and taken every 300 rpms till 6.8k. (all numbers are obviously crank)

Stock 3v- 343hp
Stock w/intake- 347hp
Intake/Cams- 373hp
H/I (stock cams)- 367hp
H/C (stock intake)- 366hp
H/C/I- 378hp

again, this is the average crankshaft hp from 5k-6.8k.

I wanted numbers too but after months of not much i decided to purchase the intake myself. My car laid down 330/314 with stage 2 nsr's, pypes LT's, or/h, mac mufflers, delete plates, udp's, tune, 4.10's, C&L racer.

Only thing i have changed is i switched to an or/x and borla mufflers. I have the intake and when snow clears, i will dyno it on the same dyno. Should be around april.

I just Installed my FRPP intake manifold two nights ago, I'm fully bolted on, and I noticed a lot more pull in the higher rpm range, an 07 Sti can attest to this (last nights kill) lol

You sure you didn't put your foot in your mouth AGAIN?

You edited something at 11:20 and I will bet it was you added CRANK hp and who fucking cares about an engine dyno????? 99.9% of the real world uses a CHASIS dyno...what fucktard.

Go back to the kills section where you belong troll...what a fucking waste of air.

Says the guy who uses an engine dyno and then comments on having nothing to add....shessh.....you epitomize the term fucktard.

OP-good luck with the results, I am done arguing with boy wonder who is the 3V expert on ENGINE dyno's...

This is why one should not argue with idiots, they always win due to experience.

Not to mention theres no way in hell a stock 3v with just a frpp manifold made anywhere near
343 bhp. On a stock car the manifold maybe makes 5rwhp. They make 240-270 to the wheels stock, maybe if the stars aligned on the strongest stock 3v ever made on a generous dyno with tuning you would see 320-325 at the fly tops.

3vS197 you contiunue to prove that you are a childish idiot with nothing to offer beside reposting shit from a "magazine article", just quit fucking talking, and dont forget to breathe:crazy:, although even when you do that the air comes out crooked.

To the op listen to what Mike says hes actually had them on his dyno and tested them, including my car. And yes on a stock car there are better mods to do first obviously.
I have had my hands on a few of them, From what i have seen its worth about 10-15hp n/a and about 20-30hp FI. I have never put one on a complete stock un modded car to test the gains if any though

and check out my edit lightblade, i corrected your highlighted number to the correct 366.

thank your for that astute observation. but the "magazine article" was not on a chassis dyno, it was an engine dyno. had you read that you might not look like such an idiot right now.

also im not arguing about how much more power the intake does or does not make.

i know what i know from experience, you know what your tuner tells you.

greg, im not arguing about what sort of dyno numbers more people want to see. i never did. i was simply reposting in a different way what the article said.

u two smart guys wanna make anymore intelligent remarks?

ps. GREG, look at what lightblade copied from my original undedited post, where it says CRANK...twice

spectre, if you're stock, then a good upgrade path might be CAI with mail in tune from Brenspeed/bama/bbr, etc. Then depending on your mods, and where you want the power, you may add gears. From there better tries, Exhaust, if just an OR midpipe, still decent gains. With every mod you will need a your ecu re-calibrated... Read the forums and enjoy your car.

edit. if you're stock, then delete plates with a codl air intake and tune is waht you want, no need for a manifold until way later.
