I've gotten some conflicting opinions on delete plates v the F/R intake manifold. I was told by several knowledgeable folks the new manifold was the way to go, I'd see 20-30 RWHP from that mod alone. Another knowledgeable gent felt directly otherwise & thought delete plates were more effective, especially for the goals I'm looking for in my daily driver Bullitt. I'm not necessarily interested in peak power as much as improved bottom/mid-range drivability.

Then I found an article on the net (http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/tech/mmfp_1009_ford_racing_three_valve_intake _manifold_testing/index.html) that clearly indicated the F/R manifold on a basic stock 4.6 actually lost power thru-out the power band. If the 4.6 was modded w/new cams, top end stuff, it gained but I'm probably not gonna do either.

Anybody got an experiences w/the FR intake manifold? http://www.cjponyparts.com/FORD-RACING-INTAKE-MANIFOLD-46L-3V-2005-2010-FORD-MUSTANG/p/M9424463V/

I have had my hands on a few of them, From what i have seen its worth about 10-15hp n/a and about 20-30hp FI. I have never put one on a complete stock un modded car to test the gains if any though

I don't know what other mods you have but if none, there are way better places to put your money. Our intakes do well until you mod it a lot more. Do you have a CAI yet? Gears? Headers? Even some NSR cams would be better than the intake on a stock car. Again, I don't know what mods you have.

I'm looking to do the same on my car. I have JBA LT's, Hi flow catted H, Roush Catback, JLT CAI, Bama tune, was looking for my next investment. I was thinking about the GT500 TB from Lethal Performance and Brenspeed Detroit Rockers and the FRPP Intake Manifold, but wasn't sure about the intake. I hear cams and TB alone will be good and the stock intake works well enough. Depending on money, I might hold off on the intake manifold and just go for the aluminum driveshaft or Nitrous following cams and the TB. Good question Spectre, I was about to ask the same thing. Also, mine is a 2010 GT 5m. Anyone's opinons on throttle body's, cams, and FRPP intake?

I would maybe do the intake if I was putting better heads on the car, and it saw alot of track time, other than that from what Ive read it will only make a little more power than the stocker and all on the top end. For a street car I dont think its worth it, cams for sure are worth it, throttle body it debatable, pullies some guys love others not so much. If you dont have gears they are a great bang for the buck.

Ive only had my 06 for a few months and havent made up my mind which way to go with it yet but If I dont go FI I will be doing LT's, pro chamber, detroit rockers, GT500 TB (only cause I got one free) pullies, better CAI, ALM driveshaft and make the switch from 3:55 to 4:10 gears. After that as finances permit, heads, and ALM flywheel. Id like to think that even without the heads I could at least hit 330-340 RWHP?

LOL...seems so much easier to just get blower and be done with it but I know myself...Ill want more and more boost and then I will need a shortblock.I keep telling myself I only need about 400 to the wheels to keep me happy but we all know how that goes...

Joe.

No track time for me, I just enjoy cruising for the time being. So I guess I'll be calling up Brenspeed and ordering the Rockers and TB, get it dyno tuned and then go for the driveshaft. I already have the 3:73 gear package and I'm pretty content with them for the highway driving I do.

One of the techs I talked to recently said, in his experience, the FR racing manifold was overkill for a basic stock engine & that's what my Bullitt currently is, w/the exception of my Steeda mufflers. He swore the best, most productive combo would be a new tune, a bigger new CAI (Steeda, JLT or C&L,) delete plates & Ford's stage one racing cams.

I know everyone has their own opinion about how to make power so I'm just trying to suck in as much info as possible. I can't go radical cuz my Bullitt is my daily driver & from my seat, it already goes/handles/brakes pretty well stock. I know the tune/new CAI are up first & I'm not looking for crazy HP/torque, just a little bump from where it currently sits, so things like headers, s/c are out. The Bullitt came w/3.73 so I don't think that's gonna get changed either.

But it sure would be nice to hear from guys who might've installed the the FR racing intake to hear their results.

I'm new to this forum, but I bought my '05 new so I'm excited to have found this site. I've got the FRPP intake, FRPP T/B, Hot rod cams, Kooks longtubes, high flow cats w/H-pipe, UD pullies, CAI + tune. I'm pushing 340 RWHP. I was running 311 without the longtubes & intake. My shop says the cams are bringing my numbers down. The Hotrods are for sound only, which is what I wanted. At the end of the year I'll be modding the engine for the last time. COMP cams and a port & polish. They are promising 370 RWHP give or take.

I don't think you will find any one with a bone stock car with the FRPP manifold. There are a lot of things you can do to the car with that money. You all ready have a high flow CAI with your Bullitt! And tho not as good as a custom tune, you have an advance tune already. Wait till you install a mod that requires a tune! Go with underdrive pulleys, better shifter, CM delete plates(requires Tune), tho cost alot a 1 piece DS Alu makes a big improvement. If you do not want to upgrade the exhaust (headers) there is no reason to upgrade the intake!.

I love my manifold but I could notice a drop in torque but after that initial 1st-2nd shift the car feels a lot stronger and it pulls harder through the RPM band up top. It was more for future plans when I bought it because I got it for a killer deal.

Your new to the forum, theres lot of info on here. Enough to make you realize that your not going to come close to 470 rwhp N/A with your mods. Maybe you meant 370? If not you might want to start looking for a new shop..
