I'll be over this as soon as the motor is back in the car! normally I wouldn't mind building a motor but my shoulder my back has been hurting lately so it makes it a little bit tougher. I'm headed home to yank it out now so I should have the heads up tonight.

I red lite and he had me by a tenth and 8 mph. Even with the red light he passed me at the stripe. I thought my car was fast till I started running Larry! Now the new goal is 8.97.

I am about 200 lb heavier then Larry.

Fun racing him either way! His car is a beast!

I got the motor out and the crank pulley is giving me hell. It wont budge. I am getting a bigger impact tomorrow. After removing the motor I think My diagnoses is correct, and the motor was starved for fuel I think after what I saw tonight I am looking at two pistons and maybe two cylinder sleeves. Here is what the headers look like. Very white on the rear three on each side and very oily on the front two. Will know more tomorrow after the heads are off.

If Im correct it should be an easy fix, one or two pistons and one or two sleeves. Oil is pretty clean so far as I can tell. I will know more tomorrow when its all torn down. I am going to get two pistons coming asap.

To most this is a DISASTER, to Billy it's "an easy fix!" I love this guy!

Why would you put sleeves? Not just get a new block, seems easier?

I have been through this a few times. Sleeves only cost $100 each for the machine shop to press in that's $200 to fix my block. A new block cost a lot more than that. Plus my cylinders are bored so I would have to get the new block bored as well that be more expensive.I've never had an issue using sleeves in a block. They just press the old cylinder out and press a new one in. Not to mention the several hours I have deburring the block and smoothing all passages along with threading the plugs and such. This block as a lot of work done to it.

Same as factory. You can still only bore .030 over.
