lowes or any auto parts store.

Already tried lowes they dont have one that big, and advanecd auto had no taps at all. If a hardware store doesnt have one then i guess i will have to order one online or take you up on that offer.

? the outer diameter of a hole is the same as the inner diameter..its a hole.. its 3/8"

So 1/4" barb will fit better with 6mm vac line, thanks.

Looks like i need a 3/8 npt to 1/4 barb.
Here is a chart to help you out when deciding which size npt threads you have when measuring the threaded hole.

http://www.plumbingsupply.com/pipethreadsizing.html

It confused me before until I built some transmission lines for a truck I had. The 1/8" npt it actually the ID of the tubing not the OD. That chart should clear things up for you though so you won't have to guess.

Also, the 6mm line converts to 1/4". I got that info from atpturbo's website.

http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchan...tp&Product_Code=ATP-SIL-126&Category_Code=VCM

I hope this helps man. Good luck with the build and keep the pics coming.

looking good man. im very impressed with how you came up with the idea to run the turbo piping between the radiator support and radiator. cleans it up so much and makes for a good DIY system.
cant wait till youre done!

Yeah i noticed there was lots of room foward of the support, its just that the stock fan shroud is normaly in the way. After the shroud is gone it cleared the room right up. Since i knew the hotside goes aft of it, I figured that was the best place.

Looks like the piping from turbo to intercooler is going to be alittle more involved with a few more twists and turns but i have the basic idea for that too.

I also have plans to route the turbo intake through my cai shield and then reuse the filter.

Yeah thats what i though too, i got a 1/2" npt tap and its still too small.

The drain fitting measures a little over 1/2" wide and it turns out that 3/8"-18 npt pipe tap is like .570 of an inch outer diameter, i know weird, but it reccomends a 9/16 drill bit before tapping.

Lookin good man..I had to do the same thing with my v-band clamp. I couldn't get the dang thing in there so I shaved some off to get it to fit. Are you using the clamps he supplied, I have noticed you will be slowly replacing them as I have already replaced 3 of mine. Could be also me over tightening them but they like to split it seems like.

LOL, for a minute i was pissed when it wouldnt fit, and then i though about it for a minute, thought about bending the edge in but that was too tuff so i just trimmed it down. I'm using the supplied vbands. I will keep that in mind, im usually bad about over tightening but I will try to take it easy on the vbands, as they will only seal so much, thanks for the info.

Where are they splitting at? Where the band is tacked to the grooves on the inside?

I had one split on the grooves on the inside. Then I had them bend where the T is where hte bolt goes in and then it comes loose. Sucks because at summit there like 40 bucks, I believe natural1 found me some in my thread for like 11 bucks from a place.
