Alright got it done finally now that i have the right tap.
Used a long aligning puch to make sure i had it the right size before i started taping.
Had to trim the end off so it would fit into the oil pan to where i marked the right size.

Greased the tap to catch the metal shavings

Threw some teflon tape on the fitting and threaded it in, then sealed around it with some rtv as reccomended.

Removed one of the 4 ports on the glowshift sandwhich adaptor for the oil feed line.

Threaded in the 90 elbow, flared end goes toward the line.

Went ahead and wrapped the other pre turbo connecting pipe
p_00072-5.jpg

Started fitting up the rest of the piping

At this point i noticed the drivers side header pipe socket connection wasnt all the way tight, but i couldnt tighten the bolts anymore. Noticed the instructions reccomend using studs with longer threads for the drivers side to get it tight, makes sense, So gota go find two studs this size with more thread.

Overall though it was a good 2 hours worth of work in. Also worked on extending and splicing the wideband wires to reach the down pipe.

Looks like one more trip to the hardware store for 2 studs then i should be able to throw the rest of this hotside on.

Thanks man! i really wanted to clamp everything up but those manifold bolts are gonna be hard to get to with the over a-arms pypes in there so it will have to wait till i get some longer threaded studs, no biggie.

awesome man...shouldnt be long now!!

i had to cut my punch down also to make it work!!

i used some black heater hose when i first did mine...but switched it out to some blue push line stuff that resists heat, the black stuff started getting real soft.

what size oil feed line are you using? do you have a restrictor? i ended up putting a restrictor on mine.....i took the fitting from the turbo feed to home depot, went to the metal section and found a steel rod that was slightly larger then the opening on the fitting. got home and beat a small section of the rod down into fitting, then drilled a 1/16th (i think that was the size but dont quote me on that!!) hole thru that rod. worked great...or you could spend $25 for a actual restrictor!!

LOL. Nice job! Well where the supply unions are is flare down to like 1/8 inch so we shall how it does as far as smoking and what not. Not a bad idea on the homeade restrictor lol

mine is a #3 feed line, using a #3 to 1/8th flared brake line fitting (restrictor was in the fitting directly ontop of the turbo). it would smoke after i got on it hard and id notice it when i got to a red light or stop sign.....smoke would roll past me,lol.

So did the 1/16" restrictor help with the smoking. You just snuged it into the fare and the drilled through it?

yup,my shit is smokeless!!i removed the oil feed fitting from the turbo, cut a piece of that rod that was about half the length of the fitting,i think i had to drill out part of the fitting to get the rod to go down, and by only drill half way you know the peice of rod will never get past the fitting. then tap the rod into the fitting completly sealing it off......buy about 5 1/16th drill bits cause they break real easy!! you got to go SUPER SUPER slow and steady with a little wd-40. if the tip of the drill bit breaks off in the fitting...your screwed. got to get a new fitting and try again. MAIN reason i did it this way was because i didnt want to wait for a fitting to get mailed and i just thought it was an outrageuos price to pay for $2 fitting.

you will need to research that 1/16th size, for some reason i think that was the size...i think there are 2 size restrictors typically. one for ball bearing and one for journal turbos....and i think the 1/16th drill bit equals the .30 restrictor, but its been so long since i did this that i could be wrong so double check me on that!!

Only had to buy some taps and punches, not bad. Besides tools are an investment and are always good to have around.
Yeah she has been making comments lol
