I rarely lose anything but between my transfer from England back to Va and selling my old house and building a new one I seem to have lost my X-Cal. I know that each X-Cal is married up to your car so I have the following questions;

1.) Can I get a new X-Cal and load a new tune
2.) Can a tuner replace my current tune with a new one?
3.) If I can't find my original X-Cal will I ever be able to get my car tuned again?

This sucks as I was going to do a cam swap this weekend. Hopefully it will turn up but I have no more boxes to go through and no more piles of misc shit. I have searched EVERYWHERE!

Thanks

Jesse

I would think based on what I know, if you bot a new x-cal, load your current tune in it and then flash the PCU you'd be good to go. the issue will be you could never return the car to stock and have a tune that would work without going to ford for a new stock strategy to be flashed in

I'm not as concerned about being able to return it to "stock". My car has been running on this tune for 3+ years so it's close enough for me. The car is 5 years old with 27k miles so warranty isn't a concern. I hope you're right though, I have some big plans and don't want to be screwed by something like this. Hopefully BBR John or someone can chime in so we all know what's what.

You should be able to upload a new tune file, but like stkjock said no stock tune for you!

Yes

Yes

With no problems. Any tuner can write a tune for you. You will mary a new handheld to your car, and it will use the current tune as the base restore point.

Outside of being out $300-$400 for a new tuner, you are fine.

Actually, any pro tuner using SCT can restore your tune to stock based on the engine code... but why would you want to do that? LOL
