If your going with a super charger, I'd go with a VMP at least a Gen 3. I just installed one on my '11 and works great.
Well so far things did not go so well -
VMPs tuners did not like what they were seeing from the Fuel Injectors (60# Ford Units) and the MAF sensor (which was provided by Edelbrock in the Stage 2 kit).
They requested to change the injectors out to Ford 59# units (which are a different design) and want to use the stock MAF (which I am sending to them).
So the car is going to stay there for about a week while all this gets done. . . . So stay tuned (no pun intended).
Just curious, what's the beef w\ the Ford 60# injectors? Spray pattern? Or is it that these are too big an injector to be controlled properly on the low end?
Sorry for your bad experience, that sucks.
I had my car tuned by a local dyno tuner, and it made good numbers, but since the day of the tuning, it has had issues with drivability that seem to have gotten worse over the past few weeks. I have been in contact with my tuner, but he seems to just be scratching his head and not offering any real solutions, so, like you, I'm seriously considering a tune from Lito, as I have heard nothing but good things from him. I am part of a Facebook group that sings his praises and recommends him to everyone.
So let me let everyone know my VMP Performance experience. (short version for those that dont want to read the long version: TERRIBLE, Worst ever)
I took the car there 11 days ago, I was told it would take about 3 hours to tune on the Dyno. I left them to do what they do, at about 4.5 hours later I came back from Daytona Beach (near them) after not having received any calls or updates, the car was on the dyno, but I was informed that no tuning had taken place they were having problems with the MAF sensor and the fuel injectors. (dont ask me for specifics on this I am not a tuner, that is why I was paying 850$ to have someone do the work). So the up sale begins, "we suggest these other fuel injectors and want a different MAF then you have in the car."
Full disclosure here: the MAF Sensor they wanted was a stock unit, which I mailed them right out, and Fuel Injectors they did offer me a credit towards the units they wanted, but mind you all of the parts in the kit were from the Edelbrock kit and they were told from the very beginning that that was the kit and parts installed on the car.
So at this point we had agreed that I would mail them the MAF and that I would purchase the fuel injectors (receiving the partial credit for my Ford Performance 60# units), I came straight home (about an hour away) and mailed that MAF sensor right out it was received that Monday (one week ago today). I called them today and I was told that it still needed some "driveablity tuning", mind you no one has called, emailed texted, smoke signaled or used a carrier pigeon to communicate with me about the work taking place, when it might be done etc.
So my take away from the experience with VMP Performance is unless you are part of their ME TOO crowd(these are the people that are running the exact cookie cutter package they sell) they really dont know how to tune a car. And maybe more importantly they have no idea how to communicate with the client to make the experience and end result a pleasant one for both parties.
The end result is I ended up telling them take off whatever you have done and give me back the car the way it was, as the car did run and drive just fine with the Edelbrock provided Stage 2 tune, you can tell that is not the best tune in the world, but I can not give someone 850$ to do work that I have to push them to do, be up sold, and have an over all terrible experience.
So for those of you that read all of this - have you done the mail tune with Lito?

I'm not a tuner either but have worked with computers and each have comparability issues with different software and hardware. I have read the two books out on tuning these cars and there is so many different issues that have to work all at the same time.
I'm not knocking your experience was not what you expected, but I don't leave my car with anyone to work on it as rear as that is.
Glad to hear this worked out, hope you enjoy it once you get it.FOLLOW UP to my problems with VMP:
I was contacted about an hour or two after the sales guy asked me what I wanted done (having told him take out what you did and put it back to the Edelbrock provided tune). I was contacted by Chuck the head of sales, he wanted to hear the entire story and fully accepted that they "dropped the ball" he told me where the problem was and did not try and make an excuse for them making a mistake. I can understand mistake happen and his accepting the responsibility actually means a lot to me.
He went over what was done, and we came to an agreement, so they finished tuning the car, and we agreed that I would pay the original quote for Dyno time and tune (650$). I am agreeable to this as it is what I was quoted originally (yes mistakes were made but life is not perfect). I dont really care about the 10 days time, its not a daily driver, and he agreed that they should have communicated.
So in the end I am OK with the outcome and I am happy with management at VMP for stepping up and rectifying the problems, accepting responsibility and doing something to make it right.
I was told that the car put out 463 to the wheels(which is great as my requested was about 450), I was not able to get the car today (and wont be able to now till maybe Thursday). But I will post a dyno sheet if I can and give a review of the finished tune soon.
