Dino Dino Bambino I have a red car

Perhaps a satin finish similar to that of many aftermarket CAIs would have looked better but that's a very minor gripe. The Edelbrock E-Force kit looks great anyway and if the lettering was painted over in black, it would look so stealth that an untrained eye wouldn't even think it's a supercharger.

It does not come with it in the box so to speak. let me explain - I ordered the kit without a tuner as I already own a SCT Livewire TS (basically a nicer version of the X4, better screen and touch interface) but they do sell a kit that includes the SCT X4.

Either way once you get the kit you use the tuner to download your cars STOCK tune and send that off to them to get a tune for your car and your tuner (SCT locks tunes to the serial number of the tuner).

So the start up tune is not in the box, but one is provided via email.

That being said I dont have mine yet, they say 24 to 48 hours (I always wondered about that why not say a day or 2)?

Yea, gotcha. Sounds good should run well. I'd definitely get a dyno tune when you can just to be on the safe side. Unless they go back and forth with you on datalogs and you have a wideband etc.. to make sure the A/F is on point.

Looks like a very nice install, very clean. Where does the intercooler mount?

Would love to see a video when it's up and running. Mostly to hear what is sounds like!

Its super stealth black in color and goes in the factory opening, bolting to the back of the metal bumper.

Will do as soon as I get the tune from Edlebrock waiting :pissed1:

Thanks was thinking of an upgrade for my COYOTE crate engine. Have an opening below the radiator that I use from my homemade CAI that might work.

So sorry I had been quite about updates on the supercharger install. It was installed and I did get the tune files, but nothing was working. Then I had no time to look at it.

Well I got a little time today and I knew it could only be in one a two areas, the first was the TPS sensor, I thought maybe I got it on wrong - this was not the case as it is nearly impossible to do without being an animal.

The other was the ETC (I have no idea what that stands for - Electronic Throttle Control maybe?) harness, there is this little 6" extension harness, I was never able to get it to click in but it was seated pretty well.

So today I spend a little time looking that over - I took it off and tried to plug it into itself (as its just an extension, think plugging an extension cord into itself) even that would not work, there was 2 'polarizing' ears on it, I trimmed 1/4" inch off each and bingo it fit. connected it back up and had throttle control again.

So I flashed the car with the stage 1 tune.

My personal opinion - its is way less than I expected from the kit, the car actually felt stronger and faster with the SCT base 93 octane tune and the 4.10 gears.

BTW - Someone asked what it sounded like - well the answer is I can not even hear the Supercharger. I have 2 MINI Coopers with Supercharger and you can hear them scream, this makes no noise I can hear, actually a little disappointing. I do have the stage 2 Pulley that will make a little more boost (and hopefully noise). But if you wanted Stealth this would be the kit.

NOW that being said, I did notice that the Edelbrock tune seems mild and I think they have made it so that it is not very aggressive so you are not tearing up transmissions. I already have the Stage 2 kit here and the Edelbrock tune already so I am going to install all that when I get a chance and see how that feels and if that is still garbage then I am going to VMP in New Smyrna Beach to get a Dyno Tune done.

My car "felt" faster for normal driving with the crappy Bama race tune, but it was only because the pedal control was awful and was opening the TB way earlier than other tunes. Could this be the case with your, as you said the SCT time made the car feel faster?

I recently put a m122 blower on my car and mines not very loud, although, my exhaust is quite loud.

Yes that is exactly what I think is going on the stock SCT tune was extremely progressive, it would chirp the tires backing out of parking spots if you did no go super ease on the pedal. I understand that the BAMA tunes are even worse.

I would not call my exhaust loud by any means - I have the akropovik cat back system, I used to have the Pypes (now that was LOUD).

Yeah my Bama tune was garbage. It was really undrivable/unsafe with the race tune.

Just had to pipe in concerning the Pypes exhaust...…..I have the Pypes Super Bomb Mid Muffler catback system w\ the 14" x 4" resonator tips installed on my '09 GT Glass Top......everybody knows when I'm around from the sound alone......yep they're very loud!

Love the SC choice you made for your car! If I ever do decide to install a SC setup it will be the Edelbrock E-Force setup!

Started putting the GT500 / FP dual fuel pump kit in this evening. So far it has not been a fun job.

I should have it finished up tomorrow and maybe even the 60lbs an hr fuel injectors in.

Yeah, can't figure out why Ford couldn't line up the access holes with what you need to access. Anyways, I have found undoing the tank straps and letting the tank down a bit without unhooking anything will give you a little extra space that will allow you access without the current levels of frustration.

Ok, so you are underwhelmed. Install the stage 2 kit.... then get VMP to do a real tune for you. They have done hundreds of tunes for the Edelbrock blowers. Then you will also have the AFR dead on. Then you will be overwhelmed. Just make sure you tell them any mods that have been done..and what octane fuel you intend to use, (and whether it has ethanol in it, and how much % wise) rear tire OD, ( revs per mile), rear gear used etc. They will have it tweaked up dead on. Tell em to leave the throttle response like OEM.... you don't want the..'light switch' response. Tuners like to mess with the throttle response mapping in software.... to provide for the ..'illusion' of 'more power'.
