Am looking at getting an oil pressure sensor that will read through the OBD port. I have a base GT so never got anything but standard drive cluster. Does the mustang have an oil pressure sender that you can read the pressure through the OBD2 or is it just a dummy light system only? If it's just a dummy light system is there an OEM sensor I can add to read oil pressure through the OBD port? I was just going through the OBD port to save on wiring.

While am asking for future question, what about oil temperature through the port?

It’s a dummy. On at 5psi, off under. You will need to install an oil pressure sender near the factory location by the oil filter. The stock one doesn’t measure PSI it’s a glorified switch.

Same with temp. That will require another sensor that measures FLOW so most Blocks won’t work. Check out Autometer’s selection

Thank you! I was afraid it was just a dummy light system.
