I purchased the COMP Springs 26113-24 the description said that they are compatable with the stock retainers, I tried to fit the stock retainers to the top of the COMP Spring and it slides all over the place, it fits snug on the stock spring. is this going to be an issue?

The Stock retainer is 0.814 in wide and the inside flange is 0.555 in

The Stock Spring top ID is 0.579 in and the COMP top ID is 0.640 in

Should I postpone my Spring Install till next weekend and purchase the COMP Steel Retainers for 100.00

As stated above, you should definately get the Comp Cam retainers. Might as well and pay the extra 100 knowing that it's going to work correctly, then screwing something up and paying big time. I have the steel retainers with those springs and the fit was perfect.

Thanks,
I ordered them today,

I read somewhere that these Springs will cause an open Phaser to fail quicker, there saying you might as well do lockouts
because you will be in there in a year replacing Phaser gears.. Any Truth to this...
