When swapping over the calipers, what bolts did you'll use to attach the caliper to the hub? Did you all reuse any of the bolts from the caliper bracket (gt) to hub?

If you mean the caliper to the spindle, it just uses the original bolts.

I was poking around on Rock Auto the other day looking at brakes for 05-09 and they had a 4 piston setup that they advertise fits over 18" wheelshttps://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=11059248&cc=1432173&pt=13255&jsn=1044

Those are just repackaged stock GT500 14" 4 piston Brembos (probably using the reproduction calipers). Same brake setup this whole thread is about. They do fit under 18" wheels, just not all 18" wheels. That's what the early GT500s came with.

Agree w\ this.
I bought StopTech's 07-09 OE version GT500 kit & used the FP M-2078-MB Brake Line Upgrade kit (12-13 OEM Boss 302) which bolted right up w\ both front\rear calipers w\o issue.
I also had the actual 07-09 Shelby GT500 18" x 9.5" wheels installed on my GT ahead of time (the very 1st mod package I bought from CJ Pony Parts--included Steeda UDP's as well--after car purchase) that were designed to clear these brakes w\o issue as well, so I had this already covered up front when I decided to do this brake upgrade later on.

I can understand some folks frustration surrounding these but am having a hard time following why.........

My 2 cents.......

Correct, which bolts do I use from my gt brake assembly to bolt the caliper to the spindle? I assume the bracket bolts that bolt to the spindle.

Just wanted to add that you can get OEM boss 302 brake lines front and rear from American muscle for $100. If you’re just street driving they’re fine. Might as well upgrade those while everything’s apart in my opinion but you could use the brake lines you have now if you’re trying to do this on a budget.

I did see them at American Muscle and purchased them as well. Hopefully in a couple of days I will install them, here is a pic of the rims. According to American Muscle, these brakes should clear the rims

And I can confirm the 18x9 AM FR500 wheels also clear.
I got a set for the 94-04, but same specs as 05&up.

The weights did grace the caliper though. There is probably 1/8 of an inch of clearance. Going to be taking the rims to get then re-balanced and ask them if they could put the weights elsewhere.

Have them "static" balanced. Weights are only put on the inside lip. Unless you want weights on the face of the wheel.

Ps: I have my own spin balancer. And I dont zero out my wheels anymore. I kept losing the stick on weights at track days. Only use the static option and only if the wheel is significantly out of balance. Anything under 3/4 oz out is perfectly fine. I get no vibrations on the highway or at up to 145 mph.
Im not recomending this, just posting personal exprience.

Not sure if these are any thinner.

I just bought a used Hunter road force balancer, and it has a mode to do "split weights", to line up with the spokes only (or even inside "hollow" spokes). Looks like you could move your weights outboard if they could be moved to spokes, yes?

If they can't get inner "dataset" arm (used to automatically tell the machine where weights go, once you put arm in the spot you want "inside" rim), you cam measure from inner edge of rim, to spot in/on "spoke", and manually enter info in machine. It needs to know how far outboard from inner edge of rim, and a theoretical diameter of where wheel weight will be placed.

Put duct tape over your stick on weights. “Old racers” trick.

Even with that 1000 degree tape?
Did not use that tape, probably why I kept losing them. lol
One standard weight on the inside lip is good enough for me. And I've not lost one of those to date.

Good for you. I've had the opposite issue. Plenty of vibrations on tires, even fully dynamically balanced out. Mostly tires just not made right, even one NT01 recently. Main reason I just grabbed that Road Force.

Don’t forget to swap out your spare wheel for a full size. The stock spare won’t fit over the Brembo.

Shit, no clue if my stock spare even fits. Have NO spare in the fox body. LOL Cars are not a daily anymore, I only have that shit in the 07 to keep the trunk floor supported.
