Yeah, I can't imagine having one of those hit you on the head or in the face..

Hope you get the Stang back soon. Did you have to get a new roof on the house?

Yeah that's another reason the mustang was damaged so much, I wouldn't let him run out in that crap...figured after a few seconds what damage was done was done.

Yeah got new roof on the house. I bought the house with old roof and three layers of shingles on it. Quotes from places where $12k+ and that was if no boards needed replaced and with same style shingles. We got $9k from insurance and had a friend who does roofing to replace it for that amount and upgraded to architectural shingles. We left the small amount of siding that was damaged in place, we changed roof color and plan on residing the house next summer (it's currently light red brick half way up with yellow siding, and we're hoping to change to lift gray siding) :)

Mustang may or may not be done today :(
Apparently they had trouble with the rear defrost connector on the back window when they went to reinstall it, guy said he came in to the office to call and order a new connector and when he went back out to the shop the back glass had been shattered (don't think it was in the car at the time). So they put a new window in and are waiting for a tint shop to come and tint it to match :(

damn, I am so lucky...I was in Brentwood last weekend visiting my gf, and when that storm started I was freaking out because I had it parked on the street. Luckily we only got a bit of rain. Good luck with your car man, I'm sad to hear of this. It's unfair

Yeah it's for sure staying in the garage now! Missouri/Illinois sucks for storms, glad you lucked out!

It wouldn't be so bad if the shops around here weren't so backed up! I've been home on maternity leave and have no car to go anywhere :(

Sucked to see that damage, but looks like it came out great in the end result!

That sucks. We had a storm like that here in Maryland about a month ago. My car is still in the shop $4,000 worth of hail damage. My buddy is fixing it and even got me a full car repaint. He counted 38 dings in the hood alone.

I went through the whole hail damaged cars and roof a few years ago. A storm beat the heck out of my "new at the time" F150, my "then-gf's" Jeep Grand Cherokee, and it destroyed my company car so bad that the fleet company who owned the car wouldn't even pay to get it repaired! I had to ride around for months, making sales calls in a Taurus that had more dimples than a golf ball! LOL My house did get a new roof out of it, so it wasn't ALL bad :)

Congrats on getting the ride back and the new roof. Like they say, all's well that ends well...

$7700 had to be getting close to a total. Real close I'd think. I may start pulling my car outside every time it storms now!

Nope...car had almost $17k in damage last year. Went through guard rail and took out a tree (I wasn't driving it lol, it was alcohol & heavy rain involved). The engine was pulled and everything from the firewall forward was replaced.

on my 07 gt the damage was about 11500, they said if they went any higher on repairs, it was totaled.

Does not compute. I don't get that at all...I don't remember exactly, but I was told years ago that the threshold for "totaled" was something like 60% of the car's value. $17K has got to be close to book.

Apparently the insurance didn't think so. At that time it only had like 40k miles on it, it's got 55k on it now...I guess they bad it on mileage. The final quote for those repairs was like $1k away from being totaled.

Man, that brings back some BAD memories for me back in March. We had a similar hail storm come through at work and it looked like a war zone when it was over. $8,500 of damage done and 38 days in the shop..sigh..however, I did get a Cervini type IV Ram air hood and a GT500 spoiler thrown in the deal though, so that was a good thing.

I lucked out a couple days ago. We had hail up to golf ball size but my wife had taken the car into town. Luckily it didn't hail there. The Stang is safe but her Expedition got beat.
