So I love the car...but not loving the off idle drivability of the FRPP hot rod cams. What other cams give good power with a Procharger that maintain a nice idle? Current setup is blower, cmdp's, long tubes, hot rods. The cams were installed a few years before the blower...if I knew what was coming I would have probably gone a different route!

I loved the choppy idle the hot rods gave me but now its growing old...or maybe I am haha.

Comp cams Detroit rockers

I had hot rod cams pre super charger kept them when I had the Paxton put on and than later changed to the Detroit rockers and the drive ability is night and day but they still sound lopey

I get it OP, the "cool factor" with me is pretty much over too (FRPP cams). I'd rather just go fast vs. announcing to the world that I might be able to go fast, LOL!

But I admit I am getting old(er). My son-in-law LOVES the obnoxious sound.

Edit: that was until I saw "fdjizm" sig. Those numbers are only cams? No gear or any other upgrades? Impressive!

I've been looking at those...do you know how they compared power-wise to the Hot Rods?
I don't since when i switched to the Detroit rockers we also went to a smaller SC pulley

and they do sound good just not the same as Hot Rods

The cost of a set of custom cams dialed in for your combo is almost the same money as a catalog grind set. I suspect you could get more power and less or no lope with a set of custom cams.

$740 for custom to your needs/wants. This is just a for instance. FTI is highly regarded but others do cams as well..

I guess I'm getting old too. Some cars just need that lope, but I find more and more that I really like the "stealth" setup that looks like a nice clean car that makes little noise but is like a bomb went off when the time comes. SURPRISE!!!!

K&N Drop in filter and THATS IT!

I did it to make fun of the Chebby guys with their "cam only" line.

Well, it looks like a throttle body spacer is next on my mod list. What's it worth? 70rwhp? ;) Should be enough to land me an 11-sec timeslip. :D

Comp Cams 127350 they require springs... but excellent drive-ability, good idle, nice power curve. Actually still using running them even with the turbo, and yes I know they are the "wrong" cams for a turbo.

I have the Brenspeed Detroit Rockers SC cams in my car. The car is currently NA, but it drives pretty much like stock but feels a good bit stronger over 3800 rpm. It has a tad bit of lugging in parking lots if you are just letting it idle around, but its never been a problem for me. They sound great too.

Edit: And they don't require springs or lock outs.
