I just noticed in your sig... 1991 Mitsubishi Galant VR4. I have only seen one of those in real life. Very cool car!
Don't feel too bad. They only imported 3000 of them to the USA in 2 years, 1990 and 1991. They were all badged. After 35 years, 1/2 are probably wrecked, 1/2 of what was left parted out, crushed, and maybe 1/2 of the remaining sitting in an enthusiast's garage not being driven...and maybe 1/2 of what's left actually being driven. So, yes, seeing one on the road today would be extremely rare. Other than my own car, I have probably seen no more than 5 in real life....but they are out there and it's a very popular platform with enthusiasts. Most people honestly don't know what it is. That is one of the reasons I loved it. It was the perfect sleeper car. Old video.

275/35/20 (front) Ohtsu??? 315/35/20 (rear) HP108s actually decent for a street tire. Wheels are Konig Ampliforms 20x9.5 (f) and 20x11 in the back. Thanks
That's interesting...I was under the impression that in order to fit an 11" rim on the back, the offset had to be in the range of +60mm, but all the Ampliform 20x11 listings I'm seeing are +50mm. Yours must those right?

+50. It should not be more. Mine are completely flush with the fender. Any more and they will stick out. I also have just enough clearance inside so it doesn't rub driving. I did lots of measurements before I went with this setup and I don't regret it.

A higher offset number would actually tuck it in more.
I would prefer something around 55mm for an 11" wheel on an S197 to get a little more clearance against that fender.

Going higher on the offset will make it rub on the inside fender liner. It does not rub the outside fender at all. Trust me, it has been like this for almost 5 years. Same wheel and tire. Even when I had it on the dyno and it was strapped down pretty good it didn't rub. It's just an optical illusion. :)

Is there an advertised backspacing number for that rear wheel…? Could be good to know the maximum backspacing that does not rub the inside of the wheel well.

Nice shot. For some reason it reminds me about Kraftwerk. :)

Very cool stance…! Would you mind sharing some info about the wheels and tires you are running…?
Bogart 10x15 rears with the 3/4 spacers removed for the s197 platform to make it a 8 3/4 bs then 3/8 spacers added to tuck a 325 in the rear and Weld 3.5x15 on the front with Mickey Thompson Sportsmans on the front. Eibach pro kit for the springs. Strange drag brakes and Strange c clip eliminator kit to make it all work, with the D specs on the front and Viking double adjustable rear for shocks.

We were cooking. My buddy in that Ducati was probably at 40%, but I was every bit of 80 to 85% at times. lol

It was the first time I really relied on my 6 piston s550 brembos and my street pads and I was really pleased. Four runs on the dragon and no issues and tons of other long sweeping roads with significant breaking and they held up.

I wish I would have tightened up my adjustable sway bars a setting or two now looking back and seeing the photos. Either way, it did a great job. I also ran with a pack of M series BMWs and even led for a bit. Was a pretty sick day over all.
