Took the wife's Shelby to work, it needed to be driven a bit more to go OBD-ready.
It's got the catalyst monitor hanging, but we're allowed one "not ready", so we should be fine.
Got it home and installed the 255/45/18 tires with the OEM wheels.
It doesn't look as silly as I thought it'd look, lol
Going for the state inspection later in the week, then the Alcoas are going back on and these are going on mine, for that car's state inspection,

Yes, definitely a classic combo. When I first met my wife and she had just gotten it about 2 months earlier, she was telling me she wasn't in love with the white, I told her that's crazy, it's THE classic combo.
Also, I keep saying that if/when I get a GT500, it will have to be blue with white stripes, her exact opposite

Today I replaced the rear bump stops in my '13. I recently found that the left one had basically split open, broke apart or whatever. Guess I may have cut it down a bit too much and one too many bumps.




I went with Maximum Motorsports ones, which as it turns out are nothing more than Eibach pieces. When I googled the part number I came up with front Honda Civic applications. Interesting to think that I now have front Civic bumpstops in the rear of my Mustang. Not sure how I feel about that, lol




To install them you have to remove the old rubber pieces and insert the new MM/Eibach rubbers upsidedown. I sprayed the metal bracket with a little detail spray to make the insertion of the new stops much easier.

Been working on my supercharger install, I’ve run into a lot of snags because I’m new to all of this. I had 2 guys who build race cars for a living coming to my place to help but they’ve been MIA for the last 3 weeks. About to give up on doing it myself and load everything up to take to an actual shop and have them finish.

Technically I didn't. I thought I was gonna be given a hard time because of the drag radials, so the wife and I decided to replace old and worn-out tires with a new set that we could drive in bad weather if needed, and which will pass a state inspection for at least the next 6-7 years

Replaced the Heat Exchanger's water pump. Thought the old one wasn't working so I had ordered a new one. Finally determined I had a bad ground to the frame after troubleshooting for an hour. Turned out power was good but the pump still wouldn't come on. Old pump still works so I'll keep it for a spare. Glad it was an easy fix. Morale of the story - pay attention to those grounds!

Pulled Richmond EXCEL 3.90 ratio non-hunting gears & replaced w\ Motive Gear F888390 3.90 ratio full hunting gears. Richmond's whining.....tested & found them to be a non-hunting gear set (9 pinion, 35 ring tooth count @ 3.89 ratio actual.....old Ford OEM 9" pattern) which have tendency to whine due to timed pinion-to ring gear tooth mesh across every rotation of ring gear-even if set up properly (no gear tooth timing marks present to align gear lapping to chord line).

The Motive Gear F888390 3.90 gears are a full hunting gear set (11 pinion, 43 ring tooth count @ 3.91 ratio actual) which do not have timed pinion-to-ring gear tooth mesh across every rotation of ring gear so lap better & teeth are much smaller which gives a better matchup of chord line thus not whine.

Had to replace a bad sway bar end link. Ordered one from AM that was OEM style. Didnt fit at all. Upgraded to beefy steeda ones then.

Got the boots loose and inspected them, they really don’t feel like that have any slop in them but they are absolutely not as tight as the replacements. Hoping it clears up my annoying 50-65mph steering shake! If it doesn’t I’m running out of things to check..

started manual trans swap... installing underdrive pulleys, charge motion delete, long tube headers, changing valve covers, aluminum driveshaft and driveshaft loop.

Got the boots loose and inspected them, they really don’t feel like that have any slop in them but they are absolutely not as tight as the replacements. New parts recently replaced includes: shocks, struts, strut mounts, front lower control arms and a sway bar kit. Tires are less than 2k miles, wheels were balanced when they were mounted. I’ve confirmed those little brake disc retainer clips were removed and all lug nuts are tight. I am running wheel spacers but didn’t have an issue when they were freshly installed. The shake became more apparent after a little track day so I also changed all the brakes just to eliminate a warped disc etc..

All the old ball joints on the tie rods are pretty loose and easy to move by hand while the new ones are super tight so I’m hoping they’re just worn out. I’ll get them changed out and see where I’m at from there.

Made some changes to the panel separating my trunk from the rear seat. Drilled some 6 inch holes to allow the sound from my subwoofers in the trunk to pass through better. Adding speaker grills for a polished look.

If what you've done doesn't fix your issue you might want to take the tires in and have them spun again. Check for uneven tires/rims. I just had to return two tires that were bad and get a new set. If the tires/rims are uneven/out-of-round no amount of balancing will make them ride well. It happens. Discount tire has a Road Force system that'll tell if the tires are too uneven or not (no, I don't work for them).

My son picked up a cheap 06 GT. To say it needs some rear end work as an understatement. Looks like they lost a pinion bearing and then it all went downhill from there. Pretty heavily ground out pig casing
