this is like asking someone what is the best computer mouse or track ball or keyboard. Whatever they use is what they are going to recommend.

I drove a car with a Hurst in it...hated it. In my opinion it was no better than the stock one. And looking at the two side by side it basically WAS a stock shifter. Then I drove a car with a Tri Ax in it and loved it. Just so happened that I got a deal on a Pro 5.0 (which is exactly like a Tri Ax) and that was what I used up until I put in an automatic. I loved the Pro 5.0. You have to be a complete moron to miss a gear with it.

Not had the opportunity to compare with others, but my Pro 5.0 works great! Also like the flexibility of having handle options as I am using a Hurst stick/knob.

I went through two MGWs and two Pro 5.0s. The MGWs never worked well in my car. Very stiff (softest spring) and notchy...both of them. I went back with the Pro 5.0 and haven't looked back.

Saleen shifter block on the OEM shifter hardware, takes longer to jack up the car than to install and reduces the throw 26%.

I use the Steeda Tri-Ax. It's been a very dependable and functional shifter. Many power shifts over the last couple years and no issues.

Notchy? Have you driven a "Hurst Equipped" car? The MGW has nothing on it as far as being notchy.

I'm curious though. Why did you say you had two Pro 5.0s? What happened?

I had a Pro 5.0 to start with and switched to MGW (grass is greener on the other side). Very stiff centering spring and always a very forceful two part move to get into gear. I couldn't get over the notchiness and spring stiffness and after a year MGW sent me a brand new one (great cust svc).

After 2-3 months of the same thing with the new one I bought a 2nd Pro 5.0 to compare. I never took the Pro 5.0 off and sold the MGW. I know I'm a minority with the MGW, but when two of them don't work well in my car...:hi:

And yes, I've driven a car with a Hurst shifter. He bought my first Pro 5.0 and hasn't taken it off.
