About time Mr Anti Wotbox! What changed your mind?

Lol its more for the no lift shift not launching at the track, its the idea of no loss of boost easy shifts, to help save the transmission that brought me back to it.

Yeap, i wanted tech on how to launch a non 2-step car instead of getting just buy one over and over. I will still be doing non 2 step all me launches next time at the track as i want to practice it more. Once i realize i suck or cant get any better i will start trying out the 2-step feature on the wot box for the track.

I'm having trouble with my wot box... I tried to change the 2 step rpm and now it just blinks really fast all the time. Is there a reset or something?

Did you try to do the million blinks method or change it via the PC I always bring my laptop to change it I'm not sitting there and counting 42 blinks...

also check the other options make sure everything is set correctly if you are controlling it from the PC take a screenshot and post it.

I believe the reset is reloading the firmware from inside the software.

Jeremy, I don't have an upgraded clutch like you, but I don't think my clutch could handle the boost under roll then dropping the clutch. If you compaire brake boost vs what you are trying to do. Under brake, the trans, drive shaft, axles, and all are already loaded with boost and then bam wot. While clutch in your no longer loaded so those tollerances have built up from not being loaded and then that sudden shock at higher speed could possibly be bad?!?! I'm thinking brake boosting would be more effective!

I was speeding up in 5th once and I clutch in and wot and it actually built like 1-2psi. It was a real quick clutch in and then dump and I actually slightly smoked my clutch. I was like wtf, not trying that again.

Its not really any more wear and tear, would actually be less than launching from a dead stop since everything is already turning when your moving.

Dont try it in 5th gear thats for sure, you will definetly smoke the clutch, be in the gear that closely matches your speed.

I dont like what brake boosting can do to the pads/rotors and its sometimes hard to do, aka it slows you down to much while you are trying to build boost. The object is to match someone speed for a roll race. Just coasting with the clutch in on the rolling 2-step is more appealing to me. I brake boosted to 12lbs just to try it and i had slowed down 15mph by the time i was ready to go so there was still a lag to speed back up. I imagine this rolling clutch in 2step you slow down maybe a couple mph and build boost quicker. We shall see. Plus I bet its gonna sound badass. Just think of the other car sitting there watching me pace him while im spooling off the 2-step! hehe :)

The stock clutch is bound to go some time, just remember that!

Yea I know I'm on borrowed time. I'm really interested to see how it turns out for you. I want to see flames! Looks like I'm going to have to settle for sending the exhaust housing back and let them skim some off it. I have a bad feeling about skiming that surface.

How much clearance are we talking here. Take a dremel to it lol

I sure hope for minimal pops and flames, not really my thing, but would be cool though lol

Can you take a pic of the turbo/housing trying to see whats going on.

yea I'll take a picture of the rewelded one. I basically broke it down tried to put the rewelded one back on and the turbines wouldn't spin at all. So then I had to build it back up with the slightly cracked housing and put it back together, Its my DD, because my only other vehicle is my bike and its starting to get cold. Since it doesn't fit the housing has probably egged due to the heat of the weld. That probably threw off all the tight demensions on the inside of the turbo. If they sand it and take down the low spots, what happens to the over demensioned high spots that we don't know about. If the bearing ever got sloppy it would probably destory itself.

So back on topic, when is this msd and the new turbo being put on?

wot box is in the mail, attempted to install the turbo today, had a few hiccups. New 02 sensors are in, cleaned all the oil out of the intercooler and coldside piping(that was a mess) and the hole in my down pipe is being welded shut in the morning hopefully finish it all up tommorow.

The hiccup was a just barely different thread pitch on the new center cartridge for the oil feed adaptor.. long story short got to have them tapped now.

From experience I don't suggest using anti-lag as a roll launch feature, simply to much shock for lower speeds. Not to mention its hard on the turbo with constant backfires (anti-lag at work) the best way to build rolling boost has been brake boosting.

And honestly what are you trying to run from a roll that a little bit of lag is going to make a difference? maybe bikes? I don't brake boost often in my 2.0 unless its a bigblock in the other lane. (fyi 6262 spools under 4k rpm on the 2.0) imagine what the 6265 would do on the 4.6 :)

Huh.... I will try to make sense of these thoughts and answer.

This would be done at highway speeds, and why to much shock at lower speeds, shit the 2 step is normaly used sitting still, its def less shock since everythings rolling/moving already.

Constant backfires?....

Brake boosting is shitty, and its not really rolling boost, as you arent really rolling, your braking...
With the clutch in on a 2step you would be truely rolling, so i came up with an idea and new way to try things. Not that you really have time to do either besides when just playing around, but i think it would be cool/fun to try. And i look foward to seeing how it works out once i get this wot box on.
