No prob! I was a bit ticked when I finished my install and I tried both drivers that were on N2MB's website and neither worked for me.

I guess I got lucky finding this one.

FYI...I tried it at the track and it took me until my last run of the evening to get the 2-step to work right for me. It would work fine for me in the parking lot and whatever but I guess when I tried to light the 2nd amber at the line, my rpms must hang a little and the 2-step wouldn't work.

I figured out that I had to disable the "Lockout RPM" option and it worked like a charm.

I did my installation today. Soldered everything, as suggested.

For Vortech guys:
Expect this to be a pain in the ass. Our setups relocate the power steering fluid reservoir right in front of the PCM connectors, so that had to be moved out of the way, as did the upper radiator hose. And the coolant reservoir had to be removed temporarily, too, to get to the BEC harness. Not a big deal, just tedious and messy.

For everyone:
Man, that middle PCM harness was a bitch. I could hardly get my big, manly, bone-crushing hands in there, so I soldered in some extension wires to make the job a little easier.

Thanks to everyone that posted here, giving good advice. Much appreciated.

LOL... yeah Bigray's SO right... my car's got a Vortech & I had the same experience with my XXL sized hands getting under the BEC!

I got my software & drivers working - I'm able to hook up my laptop to make adjustments to the default settings. We should all share our favorite settings & see if there's a consensus.

So far, I'm leaving the "no-lift-shift" on AUTO because it seems to work perfectly - as soon as you push in the clutch it cuts ignition & as soon as you let it out it's back on. Maybe there's a reason to customize the kill time but I don't yet see why.

I've yet to use the launch control - but I WILL put it to good use when I'm at the track.

I wasn't feeling the need to go through all 5 pages.

I am wondering if anyone has any real world results while racing? Any feedback would be nice.

Stay tuned Laura... I will skip this week but next Friday night (weather permitting) I'll be at the track to see if I can go from 11.9's to 11.5's as I suspect I will after testing the WOT shifting... it's like having an automatic but you're picking the shift points on the fly... perfect power shift every time! I've been sloppy with my 1/4 mile shifting... I know my 1-2 shift is slowing me down & the others are not perfect either, so it should make a huge improvement in my times.

IMO, even a non-racer who wants to enjoy "spirited driving" would benefit.

Well I couldn't powershift 1-2 before if there was a gun to my head, now it slips in like butter, you don't get any resistance when shifting.
There is much less effort it's like you can throw the shifter into the next gear being that there is no torque on the tranny for that millisecond. :beerdrink:

If being able to powershift every gear smoothly all the way down the track doesn't net better times there is a problem somewhere, plus being able to consistantly launch at a set RPM will def help out with the 60's

I also saw no reason to manually set the kill time, auto is basically as fast as you can kick and let it go it does just that.
I think setting it manually would screw me up being that we may or may not be as fast as the last time we did it etc...

I can't get the software to see the box, even with the drivers posted above. Annoying. I'm about to fire off a nastygram to the people at N2MB. The year is 2010; they should be able to make software that works on freaking Windows XP.

Mine worked fine on XP on my laptop if you go into the device manager it should show you what com port it's on... also now since the drivers installed it doesn't make the "usb sound" but it's there on com port 5 on my laptop every time I plug it in.

under device manager look under 'ports'

I did all that, and set it to the correct port... no luck. I'll figure it out, eventually. Luckily, the default settings (auto on the shifting and 4000 RPMs on the 2-step) might be what I want right now.

Next topic: didn't someone say that you can hook up a shift light to this thing, somehow? I'm getting the same problem that someone else mentioned earlier... the shift light (connected to a coil wire) lights up after the clutch pedal has already been stomped on.

Hrm...I'm using it on Windows XP. Did you reboot the laptop? I know it took one or 2 reboots until it worked for me.

Call them up and see what they can do for you. they should be able to send you another cable, mine had numbers on it, here is a screenshot of my current settings.

Originally it had alternate rpm checked, don't know why.

If you get a USB/serial cable with no numbers on it:

N2MB replied to my email within a few hours. They said I was using the wrong drivers, and directed me here: http://www.npcompleteperformance.com/PL-2303DriverInstaller.exe?attredirects=0. I'll let you know later if it works. Or try the drivers already posted here.

N2MB gets a 9 for customer service, a 5 for installation instructions, and a 3 for web site design.

Yeah Ray... that was me. It SEEMS that the WOTbox itself is a "shift light" - notice the parameters can be set just under the Rev Limiter in the screenshot fdjizm posted? If that truly works... I plan to just disconnect my Raptor shift light & sell it.

That sucks. I figured you could connect an aftermarket shift light to it, somehow (maybe through the serial port), not actually use it as the light. That thing isn't pretty... no way it's getting mounted on my dashboard. It currently lives in my glove compartment.

For the shift light all you do is use any led bulb and tap into a wire on the wotbox for your positive, and that is your new shift light after you activate the feature.

you don't have to have the actual box as the shift light, just tap off and extended wherever you want.

Which wire? Am I missing shift light installation in the instructions?
